Either the new 2013 Honda is working better or Stoner finally found a setup that worked for him on the 2012 bike. Or maybe he used a soft rear to set the time? I don't know. It will be interesting the read in detail, later in the day, how the tests went and what Pedrosa and Stoner have to say of the new bike. As for Yamaha, are they testing anything new, or just improving setup?

The fact that there are only three laps showing for Edwards does suggest he's spending most of his time on other bikes. Wouldn't be good news for BMW if he did switch.

While BMW had stated that they wouldn't move into MotoGP until they had won WSBK there were rumours that they were using the experiences of Edwards to learn about MotoGP. If that is the case and Edwards does switch then that's a step backwards for BMW. I'd certainly like to see BMW enter a prototype sooner rather than later. We need another manufacturer entering prototypes whoever it might be.

@King Kenny I was told Honda were going to set a benchmark with the 2012 bike before trying the 2013 bike. I would guess therefore that these times are with the current bike. Remember Casey said that he couldn't find a setup that worked, presumably now he has. Maybe he's using Dani's setup?

Remember they are not nailed on to be using the 2013 bike for the rest of the season. They're just letting the riders try it for the first time today.
