For those dummies who think Derbi was a pile of sh#t which ruined Alzamoro's career and gave Jlo a hard time, well FYI a brilliant kid named Marc Marquez smoked the opposition into defeat with the same Derbi, winning the championship with 10 race wins in a field dominated by Aprilia, not to mention the win in Estoril from last place on the grid in an 8 lap dash. That's called winning on a problematic bike not what Jlo achieved with it.

@King Kenny

Casey was new to Honda and won 11 races, Danny had 5 years previous RCV experience, that's what i call humbling, you should be a little bit HUMBLE yourself and admit your wrong.

@ pete tong

Stoner had just as much pre season testing as Pedrosa, and all of his was injury free, plus Pedrosa got injured whilst ahead of Stoner in the championship (yes I know, Jerez)

Stoner got the better of Pedrosa in the races he did, but to say he humbled him is a bit too far in my opinion. The humbling was what happened to Dovi and Simoncelli who hardly got near him.

@ King Kenny.
I agree wholeheartedly with your comments on the 2011 season. In fact before he got hurt, I thought he had his best chance of taking the title. And this year is a good example to back that up.

re: "The M1 is the most complete package out there, meaning it works better than the rest in the majority of tracks"

it should be, it's been around going on 9 years and represents the most expensive (but successful) R&D exercise in the history of grandprix. we are fortunate to have found ourselves as active motorcyclists at the turn of the century, for who knew only 4 years in, it would basically be a repeat of 1969...? back then it was honda. this time it's yamaha.

@Shamarone:

Maybe it's the best all round package and maybe not, as we do not know for sure as Jorge may be the difference not the M1, as he is the only one at the front, then two Honda's it's not scientifically proven.

@ItsTrue: you haven't got a clue. Marquez's bike had absolutely nothing to do with Lorenzo's. Not only it wasn't a problematic bike, but it was the best bike, with great setup work by Marquez's team and Marc's weight advantage over his rivals. Great rider, no doubt, but great bike too.

@Stoner's fans at Crash.net: I'm not tryint to take merit from Casey's achievements, but if you want to compare him to Pedrosa, compare him this season, now that both are fit. If anybody's been humbled by the other, that would be Casey at Sachsenring. It was a costly lesson, but now he'll know when to settle for 2nd.

You have no clue of what you're talking about.

Spanish Derbi factory was bought by Piaggio in 2001, and the bike Lorenzo rode in 2003 and 2004 wasn't used any more after 2005. Marc Marquez' 2010 bike was not a real Derbi, but a full-works Aprilia under a different name.
