“I don't think it's a question of talent or speed... If Ben is focused and calm he can be on the podium and sometimes win” – Jorge Lorenzo.

They had better watch out for Rossi and his rumoured fag (Marlboro) money- they desperately need it. On the other hand, they also need Spies for the USA market, its a Catch-22 situation

A few comments on Ben Spies:

* All this talk about Ben coming on strong at his home races is totally irrelevant. Ben (a FACTORY rider) has already thrown his season away, he cannot win the championship. This is the second year he has done this, by the way.

* Tom Houseworth & Greg Wood should have been let go A LONG TIME AGO! It's too late now. Now, Ben must go. Removing Houseworth now is like calling for a new captain of the Titanic when half the ship is below the waterline.

* During the last race Ben made a VERY BOLD statement concerning his two years with Factory Yamaha - He sh*t his pants!

Although I agree with dovi feeling like he deserves the factory ride I don't see him ever getting it at Yamaha. He is probley the 4th or 5th fastest guy on the grid come race day but he's never the fastest guy on the grid. And really what would Yamaha gain by signing him, they want Jorge to win and he is the best rider this season.Ben has been pretty much eliminated from even finishing in the top 3 but he does have enough speed to win in the dry,has won Yamaha a WSBK title on a new bike that season, very good at bike development and sells R1s in the States.
If Dovi goes to Honda he will still finish in the same possition, and who knows how good or bad he could be in WSbk,there's another former 250GP champion there now that has done nothing this season.
If Spies goes to BMW it could be a major coup for that company.

@ Don-R. Re: your post about Dovi's frustration and having no desire to stay at Tech3.

Do you really think Dovi would leave Tech 3 & MotoGP if denied the Factory Yamaha seat replacing Ben?

Surely Tech 3 must be super-keen to retain Dovi? Perhaps Herve could see this (and use it) as a golden opportunity to 'do a Gresini' and get a Tech 3 liveried 'satellite' but effectively full factory bike for Dovi to keep everyone happy? I'm sure Tech 3's sponsors would be keen on the idea, and it would help Yamaha keep the US market happy & have very strong Yam riders in 2013.

Any thoughts?

You certainly have a talent Mr Fan, you have neatly and concisely laid out DAMMING EVIDENCE which i am forced to believe would be admissible evidence in court of law and i now feel he has had to many advantages to now be called the GOAT.

@ TalentFan

"Do you really think Dovi would leave Tech 3 & MotoGP if denied the Factory Yamaha seat replacing Ben?"

It's possible. If there's no way back to a factory seat for him, what motivation is there? Maybe a 2nd seat at Gresini is more likely than SBK, but he won't be keen to stay at Yamaha if he feels that road is blocked. Maybe he wants to challenge for a title in another series.

Re. Tech 3, Jarvis has ruled out factory support for the team, and Herve has made no offer to Dovi, so it's not clear what HP's position on it is. I doubt Dovi will want to stay though.

My thoughts for next year in the whole World Superbikes and MotoGP drama is:

BMW = Melandri, Spies
Ducati Althea = Hayden (If Checa does leave to either Aprilia or Kawasaki as rumoured), Haslam??
Ducati (MotoGP) = Crutchlow, Redding
Yamaha = Lorenzo, Rossi (Sponsor Money too much to turn away)
Tech 3 = Dovi, Smith
San Carlo Gresini = Iannone (if bautista doesnt keep ride)
