When will they learn??!!! Who wants to see the same old substitutes regurgitated into the fold???! Is it sponsorship???!! Is there a list of acceptable replacements determined by the sponsors so they get a flash of sponsorship as they typically fall off??? Why not put iannone or redding on it and at least get a full blooded attempt at glory???! Ok they are going to drop it probably but at least you know in the back of their mind they are thinking " I could win this"!!!!!!! Cmon guys pleeeeeeease???

Because Redding and Iannone are in their own championships and probably don't want to risk injury or their contracts won't allow. The big problem these days are contracts which you usually have to break to get a ride (Peter Hickman?)just as a substitute, a lot have a clause in them that will release them if they get offered a MotoGP ride but normally permanent.

I'm a fan of Elias, so I'm pleased to see him get the rider for Laguna and maybe Indy. But I don't expect him to do any better than last finishing prototype. Since his Moto2 title he's been in a negative spiral and getting a one of chance on a MotoGP bike seems to be very difficult.
I think Elias should try WSBK, WSS....it might give him some new motivation.

Lol at everyone crying about "deserved" seats. Since when has that ever been the case in MotoGP? This isn't American sports where you get called up based on merit. If that was the case, Elias shouldn't have even been dropped from MotoGP in the first place after finishing 7th, and second best satellite rider, when he was with Gresini.

And why would someone like Iannone or Redding risk their own championship and possible future for a one off ride that may end in tears? They'll get to the show on a full-time basis without having sat their ****s in a 1000cc GP seat, so why bother with what would likely be a mediocre showing for a team that's unlikely to have any say in their futures anyway.

Elias is the best fit for what the team NEEDS - not what the fans WANT.
