MotoGP » Edwards blasts 'piece of sh*t' bike, Aprilia at Indy?

"We had our ass smacked and our balls tickled and it just hasn't come to fruition. Some of the things we were promise just haven't happened" - Colin Edwards.

you got it wrong. what Colin means is to give the bike of this year (2012) as available sat bikes next year (2013). not making 5 pair of units per manufacturer.

do that and casey might even think of a comeback

More importantly is the subject Colin breezed by. The not that great public attendance in Mugello. It's not because of Casey's fault or Ducati's fault or even Carmelo's (maybe some), but rather greater anti-gravity and dark forces stretching apart the economies that support this great sport.

There shouldn't be any rules applied to CRT until they win their first title.

So the factory rider don't like with BS tyre for instance, they could jump ship and ride any CRT bike and prove to the world they still can win on a pig bike but a good tyre that suit them.

Colin is right but I cannot see it happening?
The manufacturer pay for the R&D and they will not let that info out of there sight, thats why they provide technicians with the lease deal.
Teams can have a frame and body work made.
they can buy wheels, brakes, suspension off the shelf.
The manufacturers Should lease sealed engines including electrics and fueling.

As the manufactures build new bikes for each season even if they are basically the same as the previous seasons machine then that leaves a lot of bikes going into storage or scrap each year and are a financial write off.

Therefore the monetary value is debatable and the only real costs in releasing them for satellite teams is in the supply of spare parts some of which may be obsolete.

As to selling them wouldn't the manufactures be concerned that there machines might fall into the hands of their rivals so the lease agreements are a way of preventing this.

I am surprised at the CRT teams generosity in letting Edward test there machines, something I would not have thought could happen.

I think Edwards is missing the point of CRT. The long term plan for CRT is that it's the way Dorna and the FIM want Moto1 to work. Yes, the putative future class.

They want to do away with the sport's reliance on a handful of big factories and the way they see of making that work is creating an infrastructure like that in F1. The trouble with this is that F1 has worked like that since day 1, you can't just make MotoGP work like that overnight. So the idea is that CRT is there to concentrate on chassis development without massive engine costs. However there is no doubt that they need to close the performance gap between CRT and the factories gradually over the next few years. If they have a target of say 2017 for the new class then they need the CRT bikes to be as fast as the factories in 2016.

Yup, Rossi has a Big Ole I'm Coming Back to the M1 cheese smile on his face while leaning all over Lorenzo. I didn't pay for the Motogp season pass this season cause I knew it would be a three pony joke but next year I'm waiting to see and willing to pay to watch the head to head battles unfold.

it's hard for Edwards to miss the point 'cause he's directly involved there...

and seeing Dorna change rules in the middle of the season (Rookie Rules) makes you think that their rule-making policy were just guess-work?!!

It's been tough for Colin but at least his team has two of the hottest pit girls in MOTOGP. The blonde is awesome but I also kinda like the redhead. Worth staying there just for that reason IMO.

Jorge does look very awkward in that pic and Rossi looks like the cat that got the cream. LMAO.
