Spies has had a trying season to be sure. I'm not a great fan of his but I appreciate his skill and winning attitude. He'll be back next year. I'd be happy to see him on Bautista's bike altough it sounds as if he's headed to WSB to ride a BMW. That's not etched in Stone though. Rossi should come ride a satellite Honda.

They say you make your own luck,if spies could stop throwing it at the scenery then maybe he wouldnt have so many issues. That and the antics of his ma,i'm sure yamaha want rid of them asap.

just watched the crash back frame by frame and Spies isnt making excuses, you can see the swingarm go crack, crack *break* then when the bike come around you can see the subframe is sitting on the rear tyre.

Still freak accidents aside, sitting in 4th just a few 10th's off the sattelite bikes wasnt a great result anyway.

Yamaha have questions to answer!
Putting a riders life at risk because he doesn't care for the politics of your team is not on!
We can accept that Spies is the no.2 rider but this is supposed to be a top notch team.
Imagine this happenning over the kink on the main straight!
Disgusting way to treat a rider who earned their way to a factory team... any rider!

@ Neville

"He says he's sick of it, and im sure Yamaha feel the same too."

No doubt. In old seafaring terminology there's the superstition of the 'Jonah', which refers to an individual who carries a jinx or curse and who inevitably dooms an enterprise. I don't know whether the Jonah here is Houseworth, Wood, one of the mechanics, or Spies himself, but the entire team effort certainly seems doomed.

I think on reflection that Spies will think that this incident only validates his decision to quit Yamaha, while for their part Yamaha can be relieved that they're shedding a persistently ill-fated crew and rider. The divorce is probably to the mutual benefit of both. It just ain't working for either.

Portugal last year and Laguna this year twice Yamaha have put Ben at risk of getting injured let alone even killed. Show some respect the guy won you a WSBK title for crying out loud I am a Yamaha fan but their treatment of Ben has been disgusting.

Oh Sweet Jesus, PLEASE make this end...

We've gone from the ridiculous (last year),
to the absurd (this year).

Well, at least he didn't sh*t his pants!
