Ben had a technical failure causing the swing arm to collapse, totally not his fault...unbelievable bad luck for his home race...Ben had a technical failure causing the swing arm to collapse, totally not his fault...unbelievable bad luck for his home race...

I cant believe the commentators didnt pick this up even after slow mo after slow mo.... The second time I saw the crash, I could see right away it was a mechanical failure. Both the BBC commentators and the ones here in Australia couldnt pick it at all, "Lost the rear" they said, and that was that. It was SO SO CLEAR that the rear end just dumped itself down onto the tyre and as the bike lay sideways, still the rear tyre was parked up the subframe(??) The reason im annoyed is because for all MotoGP fans/spectators that DONT follow this stuff up on social media/websites, they all think that the rider is at fault and dismiss him as a second class rider.

"Even without the bad luck, Ben would still be no where.. that's what's really sad.

Yesterday's crash proves my point entirely.

@jack

Its pretty common knowledge now it seems that Ben is going back to WSBK to race for BMW, with BMW Italia saying its a 99% done deal.

According to the MotoGP commentators apparently Ben has a 2 year deal, the first that will put him back in WSBK and in his second year if MotoGP has a spec ECU in 2014 (cost is the major reasons apparently) he'll be racing the factory MotoGP bike presumably next to Marco Melandri.

yeah, swingarm or shock mount...? i was replaying the crash for i thought it looked kinda of odd... bike just snapped out...? ok, WTF...? was checking for a deflated tyre. the crash had that look, but the rear looked good coming in to the screw and was still good even as the scrappers arrived to claim the ally for 50 quid.
