BBC Sport site reports a sub 1'50 time for Redding during the test (presumably a high 1'49 then). That's a respectable time, if not earth shattering, and is on par with the fastest CRT guys on hard tyres. Lot to get to grips with all at once though. I hope he can make the move up next year, he's just too big for a Moto2 now and the lack of a combined rider/bike weight makes it impossible for him to be really competitive in that class.

What people seem to forget is stoners Ducati is a different machine to the one we see today, so comparison of achievements is silly. On another note I have said before that I can't believe smith has a ride next year with tech 3, as I think ianonne is a much more capable rider. Nothing personal to smith I just cant see tech 3's reasoning.

If your looking for a good bet for a podium, look no further than Ant West, he's been putting up with inferior crap for years, put him on something decent and see how he goes.
Would make a few of the trend setters look a bit silly for sure.
