The time Rossi spent at Ducati is NOT a black mark on his career. The Ducati is an awful bike right now and this just shows that you need to whole package to win. IF Rossi returns to winning on the Yamaha, it'll show that even more.

There is no rider who's going to come in and make the Ducati work. The bike plain doesn't work right now.

Oh please! His performance on the Ducati has been embarrassing and is the final nail in the coffin for anyone to consider him being the 'GOAT'

Some of you people would make any excuse for Valentino. What happened to the man who could win on any bike? What happened to the man who could make bad bikes winning bikes? What happened to the man who never gives up?

Valentino Rossi's Ducati mission has FAILED.

@DC
Didn't Rossi & Co say they could fix the bike in 90 seconds??
If Stoner got on the Ducati again he could win..in Fact he has numerious times.
All this shows is Rossi always had the best bike making him look like the best rider in a weak field.

Your opinion, and your opinion only. Rossi experimented with the marquee that he thought he could win on. It didn't work for various reasons (not one of them being for the lack of trying), so he is choosing to end his career on a high. I don't blame him! The only people who will lament about his lack of competitiveness on the Ducati are those who don't like him. His fans won't care........especially if/when he starts taking names on the M1.

Quiet week for Crash as this story and associated speculation is no different than what was discussed on previously related articles, noting Rossi's three options Ducati, Honda Gresini w/factory bike, or back on Yamaha factory. As Ducati brought nothing new to Laguna and Rossi crashed while down in 8th or lower this shows him at this point Ducati has changed. He can't sit and beat his brains in to get the bike fixed over the next 2-3 years so leaving seems like the best option.

Realist I agree I have no issues with Rossi if he goes with Yamaha or Honda leaving Ducati. They had their chance to make it work and they didn't. I'm sure if Rossi were younger he could stick around to try to get it right over 2-3 more years but as his window is closing his best chances for more wins are with proven bikes. As a fan of Rossi and the mark I would have loved to see it work and for him to bring them another championship but unfortunately if he moves it won't happen.

If Rossi goes to Yamaha then put your money on Pedrosa for 2013. Rossi may be the official team no.2 rider but expect a lot of behind the scenes politics and in-fighting that will destabilize the team . Do you seriously expect Rossi to sit back if Jorge is getting new go-faster parts first?
