Would it be possible for Tech 3 to ditch their Moto2 project totally and then have two prototypes and a CRT bike for Smith, with an R1 engine to maintain the link to Yamaha, and then have Dovi and Cal on the prototypes.

Off topic slightly still on Ducati though. Does anyone else think that Ducati have something lined up for Petrucci next season, personally I think he is good and why else would they have given him a test.

No abuse please I'm only a 15 year old kid who's been watching Motogp for about a season and a half

To be fair, what does Dovi really have to lose? He's doing a great job on the Tech 3 Yamaha but being snubbed when you're doing your maximum is a bit of a kick in the teeth. At best, if Dovi stayed where he is, he only has a chance at going to a factory Yamaha in 2015.

Ducati may look like a bit of a career killer option, but full factory backing will always be tempting. In reality, the Duke is not that far behind a Tech 3. Yamaha control how good the Tech 3 can be and I get the feeling they will be a bit pre-occupied next year, where as Ducati can only go forwards right now.

Also, rumour is Ducati will be getting a lot of Stoner's former team when he retires and they've certainly proved they can get plenty from the bike...

I don't blame Dovi for risking flopping on a Ducati then wait around for a better deal that may never come. At worst, he'll suffer the Ducati syndrome and no-one will be surprised, at best he could elevate his reputation further than he ever could at Tech 3 by ma

Dear Dovi,

Consider this: Nick and Vale have been fighting front end "feel" for two straight seasons and little has helped. So, do you want to ride around in 5th - 8th place on a GP bike or ride around in the top 3 on a Ten Kate Honda?

It looks like a done deal, but so did Cal signing for them a few weeks ago.

I think Cal would be more naturally suited to that bike, but he did tweet that a lot has to do with your passport.

Ah well, I hope he ends up with a decent ride, as he deserves it.

The Junior team announcement is perhaps stalled due to Petrucci. He is a great potential and already blooded at the top level albeit CRT and the slowest piece of junk amongst the slow.
Back to topic and Dovi.
The naysayers and prophets of doom need to wake up.
Dovi adapted extremely well from 2 stroke to V4 800 to transverse 4 1000. Why not L4 1000 ? Oh ! Melandri and Rossi. Well, he ain't them. He's bloody good though, even if a yard slower than the 3 aliens of recent memory.
I hope it works for him and Ducati.
Livery anyone ? Marlboro bargraph and glorious all red is my pick.

this dude does not deserve a factory bike of any kind, two years on the repsol honda and i think he won just one race. even pedrosa did better and that's not saying much. actually going to the factory ducati will only end his career sooner and not later.

Why do Ducati keep going the wrong way Dovi is not a top race winner, Crutchlow on the other hand is still on his way up and with a bit of luck this year would have had some podiums and the sort of rider like Stoner who would work to get the best out of the Duke.

Reiterating what other people have said, i see this a melandri level of disaster about it! In my opinio crutchlows much more suited to the desmo! Even thinking outside the box ducati should be looking at someone like jonny rea from world superbike, his style is alot more similar to caseys than most
