MotoGP » Lorenzo: Rossi rivalry a big motivation

“It's a big motivation to have him back because I always like to have the best riders in my garage. Valentino is one of them. I assume trying to beat me will be a big motivation for him” – Jorge Lorenzo.

A bit egotistical but accurate if he's the favorite to win the championship next year then Rossi and all others will clearly want to beat him. I'm sure Rossi will be motivated enough to show he's competitive regardless of Lorenzo. As we've beaten this storyline to death in other related articles next year it appears that Lorenzo, Rossi and Pedrosa should be podium favorites. Let's hope we get more interesting races.

I dont know whether he is just saying this but for the sake of Yamaha and MotoGP I hope the pair get on ok. Although there is an age gap - not to mention Rossi's 2 difficult years at Ducati, he had better not underestimate Rossi. Like those who mess about with animals, snakes etc, they get hit!!! This is taking nothing away from JoL though and I wish him the very best!!!

Jorge Lorenzo is actually Jor-El of planet krypton..u know..superman's biological father. Stoner knew this earlier and that's why he quits..Rossi will never has a chance to beat him..muahahaha!!!

Next years championship will be decided by these two men, you can bet on it. Dani is not consistent enough, sure he will take a win here and there but will not challenge the factory Yamaha team for the title. Marc is new to the class and will be a learning experience for him.

QUOTE egotistical but accurate UNQUOTE

Yes. In the two elements the article touched on Rossi we had "I want a wall" and "Its me or him".

Ego. Too right.

Would be great if Lorenzo gave Rossi some of his own medicine on the track.

Egotistical all riders are, but i believe he truthfully relishes the challenge, and we can also once and for all put to bed the 2010 championship argument of Rossi's missed races costing him the title.

Brit Rossi just like any top performing athelete has an attitude or ego and he's had his mistakes in statements and actions like the wall, saying Stoner was lazy and a few others. I'm sure Rossi has learned that his position with Yamaha and would be surprised if they didn't get along at least for the public's sake. Whether they get along or not let's hope they duel it out on the track.

I think we can t blain Rossi for trying to defend himself him Yamaha.. Rossi had a target before retiring and is Agostini Record.. Rossi is not stupid the same way he showup has the big talente he new that son or later he will have other rider that can mach is tecnik and be so perfect.. The realaty is that Lorenzo had all the talent to make somethingh speciall, Rossi knows that, the diference is that Rossi is more cool head, if he was like Biaggi for exemple maybe he allready had lost is mind..!! It will be exciting but will be tuff for both because they are really good..

"A bit egotistical"

Another yellow biased comment. Every 46 fan cries foul when an opponent makes a factual reference about Rossi but when he's going around gossiping like a low class old lady is amusing.

Rossi does not have a 100th of the class and ethics Lorenzo has and will never have it. And will get his ass handed to him by 99 in 2013 too.
