Good interveiw,Seems the politics inside Factory Yamaha go against his grain.Hopefully it blows up in there face next season when Rossi shows he can win on the M1 and they are forced to pick and choose who gets what.
Hope Spies goes to WSBK with Kawi or BMW.

Really seems like he 'could' be hanging up his leathers, saying motorcycling is not no. 1 etc etc. - hope he goes to wsbk but i wouldnt be surprised if he followed casey and walked away...

I guess racing at that level carries alot of stress, just like a job would, and lot of the racers do it for the love and the fun of the competiton of racing...Once that is gone it's time to move on to other things...Dorna and the factories are going to ruin the series....go back 20 yrs ago or so and take notes....

You can't really fault ben for much. Just had sh1t luck and lost hope in the end. Totally understandable.hopefully whatever he goes on to do works out.

However, I'll tip him for a podium this weekend.

I loved my bikes just as much as some loved their football or whatever their interest is/was, but as Ben says family and other interests should come first, after all racing is just a job albeit a job most of us would love
As a few posters have already said
that would be the same way KC thinks.
We can all still be an ardent supporter of our favourite sport I know I am and always will be.

@Podster.. How can you possibly say he's leaving motogp because of 'what it's become' as he's only been here for need to remember it's the so called 'Eurotrash' that keeps the gravy train rolling for the likes of Spies. If he was back in the States, with it's ethos of racing prize money, he'd certainly be missing out on the vast majority of potential earnings, the win bonuses.
Spies is right up at the top with any fan with a modicum of racing blood in their veins...ARE YOU yet another clown that knows little but likes to stir the myriad trolls that FILL these forum now...perhaps it's another reason why the 'old guard' don't bother frequenting here any more !
