MotoGP » Valentino Rossi: It’ll be hard to beat Lorenzo

“The world title is a dream. [We] have to understand if I'm still a top rider, still fast and if I can still fight for the podium. After two seasons like this, nobody knows” - Valentino Rossi.

I can't see where he's playing mind games. He's older now and he knows this. He has spent two years on a bike he can't make work, which has taken a toll on him mentally, he know this. Lorenzo is riding better than anyone on the grid, and Rossi knows this. He's the number 2 rider for the first time in a long time, expectations for him a fairly low at this point and he knows this too. If he does well, challenges for wins and the championship, then that would be fantastic and exciting. If he does not, then that's ok, it doesn't diminish his accomplishments.

Going back to Yamaha when there is only one person to beat on the grid. Smart move. If Lorenzo has an injury and Rossi stays injury free there will be no-one to stop him being World Champion again.

They really put it together describing Rossi's strengths, and the way the Ducati took it all away. And the different way Stoner was able to use the Ducati's strength.

@ TedG

I just read it bro. It was very well conceived and objectively written. It really does paint a pretty clear picture (..of course Rossi haters/Stoner lovers will find fault in it though), especially if the information is taken at face value and considered without emotion or bias. ducati and yamaha and the winner i.html

Sorry Crash.. But you are right=).. Ey realist its a good article but only tell what we know.. Stoner whin him 2007 due to engine power and the Bridgstone tyre that more less fix the problem of front end feel.. the other part say that all the worck Ducati is doing can be honest they are trying but they are worcking on the same philisophi wish dont make any sence because if the 1 dont worck the 2 it will not worck has simple has that.. The realaty is that Ducati have a lot to study, insted of there on Ego of Style and good colors better to star worcking hard on balance and thinghs that are more importante for Future, for road bikes And for they Win somethingh. otherwise to Win they will need special tyres

I am enjoying the respect that Rossi and Lorenzo seem to have for each other now and the 2 years Rossi has spent at Ducati has turned him into a more humble person.

I am also looking forward to seeing some great racing next year, you just have to put MotoGP & WSBK side-to-side and look at the contrast in racing.

With Rossi on a competitive bike and battling in the front will pull in more spectators and TV viewers, it's a win-win situation for everyone involved. Rossi, Yamaha, Dorna, Fans & TV Companies.

A wise comment considering he is plagued by doubt about his ability to take the fight to Jorge, i feel he knows himself that Jorge is going to be too strong, and is laying down the foundation for his eventual defeat.
