"This track has strange asphalt that has less grip than what we're used to but that still wears the tyres" - Valentino Rossi.

@ Waste of a bike. Give it to somebody who is willing to ride the thing to its limits.

Yer mate you tell him.

then he would of ended up in hospital just like the rest.
and if he did push it to the limits and DID crash you would be bagging him for crashing out..

@lance, then, rossi shouldnt take that money anymore... Nicky, Hector often beats rossi. when Casey and Jorge crash, its their fault, when rossi crash, its the bike. again, lame excuses.

@ Talentfan. I'm with you on what you say about the 'Rossi fanatics' and what they say.
Can I point out though that the 'Rossi Haters' are argueably worse. Those demanding that Rossi should push harder are forgetting that those that did push harder are now doubtful for the race. Those that say that he should hand back his earnings because he doesn't ride at 100% and so doesn't find it's limits forget that he found the limits last year by crashing 12 times. Besides smashing the bike up won't help developement either.
He pushed on the soft tyre to improve his time and nearly got thrown off 2 corners running, the 3rd corner might have seen him in Hospital.
Those that enjoy slagging him will have their chance after the race.

@ Codger
I despise any 'haters', though I could argue that the 'Stoner Haters' are more vicious than the 'Rossi Haters'. They are all low-brow, low-lifes IMO.

Yes, I saw Rossi have a couple of moments at the end of Quali, and of course it makes no sense to crash and put yourself out. And (maybe as a result of 'home race syndrome') Nicky just overdid it.

Unfortunately for Rossi, this fact alone doesn't really excuse a general level of under-performing against expectations and salary. As I said before, if we were talking about anyone other than Rossi, the masses would be baying for his head, and Ducati would be firing him.
Rossi was taken on to develop the bike and to have at least Stoneresque performance (only at a LOT more money). Do YOU really think Ducati will feel yesterday's Quali effort(and the last 1.5 seasons) are worth it?

Love the guy or hate him at least he's carrying on unlike a certain moaning quitter.

Stoner fans must be crying into their lemonade and sodapop at the very thought of Rossi winning races again while their "man" hangs up his high heels.

@Talentfan....again, good stuff. Great to see reasoned, factual posts. "Dave" who can sometimes be rather blinkered in his yellow undies also writes up some balanced views at times. The majority launches into a slanging fest (my dad could beat up your dad stuff)..though it is pretty funny at times.
