“I was told by somebody at Yamaha that if I'm not going to ride a hundred percent at Laguna, don't show up” - Ben Spies.

ha, everyone is blaming the guys closest to Spies and telling him to exclude himself from his base and not even blaming the guys who build the bike, who provide matieral support or whom develop the bike in general.

There are some very stupid people on this web site. Rossi better have a performance (for the bike) clause in his contract. Otherwise he will be used up just like Ben Spies. Hence the need to keep Rossi from his 'base.' So many numpties on this web site.

Ben, sit the rest of the season out. Even if it costs you $$$. Do not get on that bike anymore.

Safe speed next year!

P.S. LOL at those still calling this "bad luck".

I like Ben Spies, but to talk about conspiracy is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! Why would Yamaha try to sabotage his equipment? He is no threat to JLo (to take points away from him - simply not fast enough)
In order to claim the manufacturers title, they need all the points they can get. A blown engine looks very bad for Yamaha Corp. Spies problem is his and his crew's inability to set up a motorcycle. Tom Houseworth and crew are AMA amateurs, he should have gotten rid of them a long time ago ( he already had major problems with the during his WSBK days)

Some of you that don't understand why need to understand MotoGP.

GP is all about the money and nationalism.

Rossi brings in millions of dollars to Yamaha through sponsors and bike sales due to false Rossi hype. Spies doesn't. That is why Lin Jarvis never wanted Spies and has destroyed his entire season.

GP BS politics. As Stoner himself said "In MotoGP the racing is a very small part of it." which is why he's leaving.

Same reason why Espeleza changed the rookie rule so no rookie could get hired for a factory team the year Spies joined GPs and now that Honda and Repsol want Marquez they change the rule back.

BS GP politics.

SICK OF IT.

Ok all. I still think that spies was pushed too fast into GP, BUT, this is ridiculously bad luck. First a swing arm and now a rare engine failure. You dont go to racing at that level and give 99 percent you give 100 or 110 and think spies has given that. I feel sorry for him to take that crap from anyone at Yamaha. I feel sorry for yamaha for having bosses that treat great riders and great people like that. Shame on you Yamaha.

What's sad is that the suit actually thinks that Ben isn't giving 100%. It's either that or they think that Ben lacks talent. But what's obvious to millions of fans worldwide is that Yamaha lacks talent to provide a working machine. I hope to God that nothing happens to Jorge's bike when he's inline for the championship. If there's another mechanical issue, the boss should resign.

Whatever jarvis is doing in one of their bikes is sick, just remembering than he told to the press about spies "He is a total failure" well than denotes from the beginning than he is being used like the guinea ping for their wonderboy lorenzo.

What Spies should do is retire from yamaha NOW and go to SBK, its clear than the beginning of his time in Yamaha GP team, someone dont want him to show is talent, Jarvis remembers me alberto puig, pedbot manager another freak.

Pretty obvious Ben is a second class citizen in the eyes of Yamaha. If something is being done to his bike it borders on criminal and should be looked into. I guess Yamaha really did miss Rossi and it's almost like they new they could get him back for 2013..... Gots to be money driven and it really a shame

yup, its all politics, and bullsh**ting the fans. Some people eat it all up, some people decide to quit getting their feet dirty. Spies needs more leverage, hopefully he can find it in another class of sports or in a different career. MotoGP is a Spanish National championship, no disrespect to the Spanish riders, but the owners and primary backers of MOtoGP are perverting this sport beyond belief.

I wont be following it next year. WSBK, and WSS are just so much better than this farse. The commentary is also much more superior, at least as far as the international feed and eurosports are concerned, not so much JR, but definitely the other duds.
