You'd be mad to write Casey off, although I'd technically have him down as third favourite now. Brno will be a big teller.

What were the championship standings this time last year, and how much did Casey end up winning by? I'm just to lazy to actually look it up, but I'm sure some of you geniuses have it off the top of your head!! :)

@king kenny, Hayden also led Stoner for a long way into 2010.. So Dani's not the first team mate to be ahead of Stoner.. But, It aint finished yet.. .Just like 2010.

Joe Blow , 'stoner starts going backwards' really - your going to stick to that?

Stoner was still winning on the Ducati when he left which clearly was not the best bike compared to the Yamaha and the Honda -proved by Rossi and Hayden.

He clearly outperformed everyone in the last year of 800cc era , by which time all the teams and riders had time to sort things out.

He has won 4 races this year and this year is the first year of the 1000cc era ...The Honda is clearly not as good as the Yamaha especially on tracks which mainly turn right , because of the chatter problems.

How can he be the most under performing rider and yet outperform his teammate consistently. -Pedrosa is lucky to be the only one not to crash , and everyone admits Stoner has outperformed him...

Ok, I did some sums (and probably got them wrong) however, it looks to me like at this point in the season last year Casey was on 218 points and Jorge was on 186 points (interestingly Valentino was 4th behind Dovi).

Casey then won the championship with 350 points compared to 260 which means he scored 58 more points than Jorge in the second half of the season. Therefore, if he has the same run, he can still win it.

However, he's obviously got an injury and an injury free dani pedrosa to contend with, but its definitely not impossible.
