"@steveng this has been gone over many times Vale looks good when there was no strong competition but his numbers dont look so good in the years he had to square off against Casey."

OK. let's do the math from every full year they've been in MotoGP together (06-11)

Rossi 2 Championships
Stoner 2 championships

Rossi 26
Stoner 33

Rossi 59
Stoner 59

Rossi 2.5 place
Stoner 3.3 place

"@ Steven G: those are pretty useless stats because they don't take into consideration what kind of bikes they were riding."

Using that rationale, we should throw out 2011 because Stoner was clearly on the best bike while Rossi wasnt.

@steveng what does this have to do with the topic?
Rossi is out of the hunt this year.

Anyway, you forgot the direct lap time comparison at the end of 2010 on the same bike at the same track.
But you've come up with a nice playstation game score comparison. It just has nothing to do with this discussion. Let's see how Rossi goes against JLo next year. I think he's toast. I think oil prices are too high...none of this is relevant!

Do you have any statistics about JLo's comments?

i really think dani deserves the title this season,he has been so consistant and is just a god of riding, so much style but i wouldn't mind lorenzo winning either but stoner won't get it i dont think

I'll be my house that Stoner wins the majority of the remaining races. However, a DNF from Lorenzo would be required for him to lift the championship. It would be nice for Pedrosa to win one, especially if the newbie next year is a fast as some expect, but he has never managed it before.
