Statistics for Rossi vs. Stoner on Honda in MotoGP era

Rossi 2
Stoner 1

Rossi 20 in 32 races
Stoner 11 in 33 races

Rossi 32
Stoner 22

Obviously, Stoner kills Rossi when you compare DUCATI only statistics. Not even close. AStoner is the best Ducati rider ever. Anybody who argues otherwise is an idiot.

What this tells me is this: Stoner could ride a Ducati. rossi can't. Rossi is better, more consistent, and faster on a Honda. he's also proven himself on a Yamaha. Stoner never has had a chance. Rossi has proven himself on a 250cc. Stoner was goos but not great. Rossi has proven himself on a 125. Stoner was good but not great.

as to whose better, take your pick. as to who is better longer, clearly, Rossi and its not even close

Steven G since Stoner entered Moto Gp in 2006 he has been the most successful rider.

Better than Rossi and better than Jlo.

He has given his fans the most.

Thats what the stats will tell you.

The head to head is good and flawed... You initially took the 125 and 250 parts of their careers into account, where Rossi, being a prodigal Italian, was on the BEST machinery ALL the time. Stoner was basically whatever cr@p he could afford.

In their time in MotoGP together, you point out they have the same ammount of championships, Stoner has more wins, they're level on podiums and Rossi has an average 1 place higher finishing position... EXCEPT, that Casey was (Except for two of those years) on the "POS Ducati Rossi fans constantly B1tch about...

Compare apples with Apples - Rossi has never been on a satellite bike. Stoner's first year in MotoGp was with LCR, also the teams first year

Therefore Stoner's result on a factory Honda are

Wins - 14 from 28 starts
Podiums - 23 from 28 starts

im pretty sure my eyes are good because ive been eating all my carrots at meal time. so i know im right in saying nowhere in this article is rosii mentioned so why is it turned into a stoner vs rossi discussion.

seriously its boring coming on every article to find that everyone is still talking about the same sh*t i cannot wait for next year because stoner wont be hear whihc is a shame but ultimately it will freshen up the comment section.

Why not compare the first six years from both riders in the top class as Rossi started racing 6 years before stoner so is now well past his best.

Or why not the first 12 years from both riders ?

@ there there now....You missed out a question mark (the squirly thing with a dot at the bottom) so I assume you were not expecting a reply.
Where do you expect Casey to finish next year. (not expecting a reply either)

You sure give this old geezer a hard time. Fun though.

@Steven G well you've put all your carefully crafted statistics on the table, and proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that you don't have any contribution to offer towards the topic the is the subject of this thread. Congratulations.

You haven't accounted for the fact that Rossi has had factory rides all along, with substantial advantages over his rivals. Not to say he isn't an extremely competant rider, just that it is a gross distortion of the facts. As I said before, this is just irrelevant.

I'm sure you feel very pleased that you've made a point. It just isn't a point that has anything to do with the discussion... "Lorenzo insists that the 2012 MotoGP title is s 3 way fight." Rossi isn't in it. So what is your point? Oh yes, he's the GOAT... Bravo, genius.
