MotoGP » Ben Spies hoping 'issues' end at Brno

“I'm looking forward to getting straight back on the bike here at one of my favourite tracks to see if we can finally have a good weekend with no issues” – Ben Spies.

I know some say that this engine that blew up was the same one he crashed with on Saturday, so its his fault. But shouldn't the team inspect the engine to see if there is going to be fault? Or is it just luck at that point? Did Stoner use the same engine that he crashed, cause that one was fine... Guess the conspiracy theory cannot be proven.

It's always curious when one rider on a team has all the problems and bad luck and the other team-mate doesn't. It could be just coincidence or something else i.e. team setting him up to fail. I can't see his mechanics setting him up but if the overall team manager is giving him inferior components then it may be a problem. Granted some of the problems were tire related so those are not caused by the team. Nevertheless, I think Spies rides hard all the time and doesn't deserve the treatment he's received from management.

Spies mum Mary said she spoke with Lin Jarvis, who is shocked about Ben's run of bad luck. She also asked people to 'lay off' Jarvis, that he's not the bad guy. Source: Mary Spies Facebook page.

Ben has had good/bad luck at Brno in the past. In 2009 he was leading WSBK Race 1 when Fabrizio made an ill-advised lunge to pass him and took both riders out of the race. Ben came back to win Race 2.

Here's hoping Spies has a good race for a change.

It's getting hard to imagine a weekend without some kind of mishap for him now.

Seems a shame he looks likely to exit MotoGP just as we're about to get a round in Texas.

I for one do not believe Yamaha would sabatoge and American riders bike at the only two US venues, why would they purposley have two mechanical failures on US soil? It would only make them look bad... not Ben. Granted I do believe he is getting leftovers from JLo.
