I think Dovi might try harder on the Ducati than Rossi and that might get him better results or more crashes.

Too early to know, but also JB has said the Ducati is not far off, but the rate of improvement was too slow for Rossi. Maybe a few changes such as to the front engine mount which is much higher than on the Honda and Yamaha can introduce some more front end feel so both Dovi and hayden can improve - I hope so because otherwise, with Stoner gone it will just be Lorenzo with Rossi and Pedrosa as the next best challengers and Marquez as a rookie not yet at the top level.

@ wes elmore

No...if Dovi wins a race on the Ducati, it will be because all of the Honda's and Yamaha's ahead of him crashed out or didn't start. That wouldn't make him better than Rossi. :)

Exactly!

@ billace

I wish that I could share in your optimism. If the promises made to Rossi weren't fully fulfilled, I doubt that Dovi will receive better treatment (..which isn't to suggest that Rossi was treated badly). I could eventually be proven wrong, but the odds are in my favor.

Both risk their lives racing the thing often doing over 200mph dicing with others, how dare anyone doubt VR and any other under performing teams that they are not trying hard! All teams will have the telemetry telling them what their riders are and are not doing.

Ducati have made the right choice, Dovi is for sure the best behind the aliens. As Ducati have re-engineered the bike to suit Rossi's smooth riding style, Dovi is definately the right man for the job as his style is similar to Rossi's. If they get it right and bring in the required front end feel, I think Dovi will do OK. Not sure if he will be a world beater as he didn't set it alight whilst at Honda, but he's certainly the best of the rest.

It was also the right decision for Dovi as it is a factory ride albeit work in progress, if he does well the Rossi haters like SOUTHERNER et al will be able to hate some more and if he fails or the bike is not good enough the Rossi haters will blame the bike, win win !!

I like Dovi, always a nice and respectable boy. Imagine he can handle the Duc better than Rossi!
That will be a bit of a bummer for 46.
How ever, i am still a Rossi fan
good luck to both of them

Don't know if he's taking on a poisoned chalice but someone has to. This much said its great news and he will be a lot fresher than Rossi and it goes without saying - best wishes Andrea!!!

Cal had/has a contract offer from Tech 3 (as did Dovi) on a first come, first serve basis, so I would assume he stays put or returns to WSBK, relising there is no factory rides left, for some time.

Was Bautista one a one year or two year deal?

And Pol should stay for another season in Moto2 and win the championship, much better idea then settling for a CRT ride.
