Dovi - Make sure the medical insurance is good.

I hate to say it but if you push the bike to perform you'll end up with a concussion or worse - like Hayden last weekend.

Or you can cruise like Rossi and birdwatch as the $$ roll in - but that'll only be good for a couple of years.

Maybe someone on here could come up with the figures on how many crashes from all Ducati riders since 2007. I guess it is a bit of an eye opener.
So, as a Dovi fan, I hope he stays safe next year.

Career wise, Dovizioso just need to maintain 7 podiums per season like he used to do at Honda. On Satellite Yamaha Tech3, he just need another couple of podium to fill the quota. If manage the same amount of podiums at Ducati in 2013, he will be considered a successful career for him on MotoGP.

Then he could start thinking about winning the race and the title in 2014 season. By then, he already learn the most aspect about the Ducati.

"(Dovi) approaches it with enthusiasm and confidence, which are fundamental requirements for achieving success and for competing in this challenging championship.”
Is Torchio saying that Rossi and his predecessors didn't approach it with "enthusiasm and confidence"?
Of course, they did, and the bike continued to be a beast. Unless Dovi is taking lessons from Paul Daniels, he is destined to be beaten by the Ducati. And beaten by Cal on a satellite bike.

It's a win win for Dovi. Either he succeeds where Rossi failed and gets to be a national hero in Italy. Or he fails, as expected, and no one will blame him, because hell, even Rossi couldn't fix it.

And in the meantime he gets to pocket a few extra mill. Sweet deal IMHO.

I met Dovi a couple years back - really nice guy, and I wish him all the best....but I fear that this is a bad, bad move for his career.

Anyway, give that pig hell, Dovi!
