@ sam. 'Paved the way' Gimme a break. Ducati can't wait to see the back of this clown.
Marlboro and del Torchio screwed up the 'dream team' back in 2009. Correction,2007. They should have kept Capirex on board for 2008.
Anyway I'm hugely pleased Rossi is back at M1 fragile but sweety forgiving bike.

Dovi will have two laps on the Ducati and then think WTF?

I saw and heard Melandri say that when he rode for Ducati that he told the team bosses the Duc was messed up and they told him that it was him and that he should go see a shrink.

Audi needs to fire the team leaders and pull in some German engineers to make a new bike. Copy the Japs and put a ducati sticker on it - they have been copying others for decades.

Where else could Dovi go? he failed to impress on the factory Honda did nothing special on this years Yamaha , He doesnt have have it takes to be a winner not that Crutchlow has either , the Ducati is like the Cagiva was , the odd splash to a podium in the rain .

@ realist. Eat my words. Indeed I will when Rossi wins a dry race or a wet one for that matter on a Ducati. To be honest,I can't see him winning a dry or wet race on an M1 next year either.
Exactly why has Rossi got a Factory Yamaha ride for 2 years ? Surely its not based on performance.
Based on what then ?
Keep the series alive I guess. The GPC need him,I sure as hell don't.

He has earned the ride, but deserves an M1!!!!

Good luck Dovi, clearly you want to stay in MotoGP, and clearly you need to make some money before your career twilights, so good choice by you.

My guess would be you are making around 5x as much as with Tech 3, times 2 years, so 10x as much, not a bad move.

Your fan base knows you can ride smart, and as to all the "alien" crap, let's all get over it. True that some riders are above others, always have been, in GP it is just more pronounced.

Ducati will see Hayden for 1 more year as a base setting, then he will be off to WSBK (I hope). Dovi will have this contract plus a 3rd year to break in the new guy, then he is gone.

Cal, I'm afraid you are back to WSBK after next year too, but consider that a blessing, this series is going down the drain.
