Andrea - that's the money talking!

Off topis - interesting to hear it called Ducati Audi or Ducaudi, because the main company in the group is VW not Audi and Audi didn't even purchase Ducati - strangely the company on the legal documents is actually Lamborghini, which is also part of the VW group. Presumably the papers show Lambourghini as the purchaser so that the CO2 emisions of Ducatis products can be offset to reduce the level of EU fines that would otherwsie be payable by VW on behalf of Lambourghini.

Anyone else know the reasons or can shed more light on this?

Not only money..!! I know we are talcking about Ducati and aim one of the first to say, i losse all my confident in that Team i think they will not find a good way of balance even for 2013 but i know i can be wrong.. Take part on one Factory Team is the most important point for a rider!! Loock at Hayden for exemple maybe when he leave Honda insted of go to Ducati maybe he had other options like Semi oficial Teams but one rider allways have him mind that with one Semioficial Team is garanted that you will not have the best package possible to Win.. But with one factory even if is one that is very rare to get thingh right you know that at least one year 4sure they will find a way of building one decent bike that not only is competitive it can also be the best that year because we are talcking about one European manufactor that has AUDI involved and they are trying to find way.. Like i say before with Rossi putting so much pressure on Ducati to speed up the evolutions mayby Dovi can have

Dovi can have some hope that for 2013 with a much better bike, MAYBE.. Because is not the Red, not the name , For me its the Team of enginers and also Preziosi minds that do this to Ducati.. They need Fresh Minds less focus him Bullsht and really focus on what riders say its needed.. Ducati know that all world is with there eyes on Ducati.. Most people him the World had a certain admiration for that brand and most of then allready wach to much failures, and with only 3 manufactrs the one that failed really loocks bad.. They will try there best for 2013 if they whant to stay him Motogp, for now the money is there but its not 4ever!!

re: "for now the money is there but its not 4ever!!"

curious what money...? or are we just assuming...? whatever it is, it would need to be significantly more (likely not) to offset the potential P45 he might be looking at in 2 years time. see, prematurely retired riders earn DIKKUS. see entry for hodgson, toseland, nakano, jacque, xaus, vermulen, etc. ones that haven't won anything...? yeah, they earn even less.

I like Dovi, and I like his riding style, he is a very analytical guy and I like the techical feedback that you hear from him on the interviews(unlike Cal's smart A$$ comments)
I personally think that the reason he's so successful in the M1 is because he adapted his riding style to match Lorenzo's(fastest guy currently onboard an M1)
I don't doubt Dovi will be fast on the Duc, I actually think him and Nicky will be a great pair providing excellent feedback to the new crop of engineers that will populate the team starting with Rossi's departure. Good luck Dovi and Nicky, two very likeable guys, fast enough to develop a good bike.
One more thing, I'm not gonna miss that dumb Tech 3 chick that always gets caught on camera putting water in Dovi's can of Monster everytime he podiums.

The ducati is very fast, the mono chasis is actually very capable. They need to re-design the the mono frame to allow for more flex - this alters the vibration frequency and allows for more feel in the bike. This is what they have failed at doing.
Mono frames make great street bikes - but the technology is too new and untried for racetrack effectivness.

Dovi rides the bike 100% i think!
Dovi doesnt crash - he is smooth!
I think he will get 3-4 podiums next year!!!!!
