Shamarone, the bike Rossi will be getting his hands on next year is a completely different machine to the 800 he last rode 2 years ago.He had no input into it.What are you going to be saying in 20 years time if Yamaha are still winning Motogp races?
That the rider is winning on a bike developed by Rossi 20 years ago!
Get a grip.We have seen Rossis bike development skill blown out of the water at Ducati. They are a myth and always will were.Engineers develop the bike.NOT the rider.Even Rossi has said this himself, yet his blinkered fans still insist that he is the God of bike development.Deluded or what.

@ the truth hurts

That is factually incorrect if we are to believe Furusawa. He stated that the M1 that Lorenzo and Spies are currently riding is not fundamentally different that the bike Rossi rode aside from a few incremental changes making it even EASIER to ride. He stated that in his first interview about his visit to Ducati.

He even goes on to say "Apart from that, I think YZR-M1 could be more stable. This competitive bike had been developed with the help of Valentino by taking a lot of time. With his coming back to Yamaha, a course of its development will be even clearer." during his second interview.

First Jarvis did note that Lorenzo wanted Spies as a teammate as he knows that Rossi is more competitive and once he gets comfortable could be a contender. WSK wrong it is partially Stoner's fault for the poor Duc development with the mess Rossi had to deal with last year. Sam right that Duc's problems is the factory's fault and Rossi and his team has tried to convince them to change but he has to take some blame for not pushing it further. Realist I agree that the current M1 has the DNA started from Furusawa and Rossi.

good on ya vale, your putting your ass on the line wth this move. there will be no easy excuses like you had at ducati. Lorenzo is a demon and you'll need to ride outside your comfort zone to beat him and even then its not certain. its good for race fans too. the only thing i'd rather see is lorenzo and stoner on the same machine.
that being said moto gp is really in a sad state, only 2 manufact. and 4 bikes capable of winning races? put every one on ctr's at least the racing would be better

I'm getting tired of this Casey won most "23 races on the Ducati" comments.
Stats confirm this but the reality is a little different.
2006, Ducati win last race of season with 1-2 for Bayliss and Capirossi, on Bridgestones.
2007, Stoner joins. Ducati and Bridgestone produce a missile and he wins 10 races. But his team-mate was Capirossi, hmmm
Rossi won 4 on Michelins, with Edwards as team-mate
2008, CS wins 6 and his team-mate is Melandri, hmmm
Rossi wins 9 on Bridgestones, Lorenzo wins 1
2009, CS wins 4, Hayden as team-mate, hmmm
Rossi wins 6, Lorenzo 4
2010, CS wins 3, Hayden none
Rossi wins 2 despite being out of a number of races with broken leg and an injured shoulder that needs surgery after the season finishes.
Lorenzo wins 9 races.
My point is that Stoner never had a decent team-mate to take wins from him. Rossi won everything before Lorenzo turned up.
Between 2007 and 2010, CS won 23 races without competition in his team.
Rossi won 21 races with Lorenzo as his team-mate betwee

Rossi won 21 races with Lorenzo as his team-mate between 2008 and 2010.
In my mind, the current best rider is Jorge, and I don't like him.
All Stoner has proved this year is that without the best bike, he is as good as Pedrosa, I thought he could adapt to the bike.
He's a supremely fast rider, but not the strongest mentally.
As for Rossi, he has some balls, returning to take on the best is eye opening.

So you too eh Realist?
You will also be claiming that Rossi is to thank for every future success Yamaha has.Why cant you even accept the words from Rossis own lips?
He has publicly stated that he is not a bike developer,he just rides it.The engineers do all the hard work!
Rossi has not sat on a Yamaha for nearly 2 years, yet somehow any success is down to him and him alone!
Defies belief.

Between 2007 and 2010 Stoner won 23 races without competion from his teammate.....Herowassenna.
No,but he had plenty of competition from the rest of the field though didnt he?
Including Rossi. So your point is exactly?
23 wins are 23 wins regardless of your team mate. You still have to beat the rest of the guys on the grid!
Why get so upset because Stoner won all those races on a Ducati?
Is it because everyone else who has tried has failed so miserably?

So you are tired? You conveniently forgot that there was one common teammate between Rossi and Stoner, wich is Hayden. Now, do i have to remind you How far back usually Hayden qualified and finished in relation to Stoner, and in relation to Rossi?...

I don't know whether Rossi will win Championship with Yamaha again.
Surely, he can't win Championship on Ducati. It's not 100% Rossi fault.
I'd like to see him on competitive bike before he retired.
Casey Stoner won the Championship with Ducati because that year Engine Rule was changed and Ducati had advantage on working and developing engines earlier than other factories and also help by Bridgestone Tire as well. Otherwise, Ducati bike can't win in 2007. In 2007, Dani (Honda) and Rossi (Yamaha) have 3 retired each.
Only Ducati can win again if Engine rule or other mechanical rule was changed and they know in advance.
