'In every race I have been on the podium this season I have not started this strongly, so hopefully this is a good indication that we will be very strong in the race on Sunday' - Andrea Dovizioso

He's not matching them under race conditions though. And he has no chance of ever doing so on a satellite bike. Third is like a win for Dovi right now. He must think - rightly or wrongly - that Ducati can eventually give him the tools to do better.

rossi was much greater rider than dovi ever is.... he too was sure that ducati will give him the "package" n they did everythng but he cudnt do anythng on a ducati, even CRT bikes were qualifying ahead of him.... i dnt thnk dovi can do anythng either..... his ducati decision could b his carrier ending decision... else he will also return to yamaha or honda....

Dovi and Nicky to WSBK 2014 with Ducati. Ducati pulls out of dying MotoGP, also because they just can't compete at this level of spending.

Dovi is a fine rider, but without the best factory kit he stands no chance next year. I think he's a championship rider, not a risk taker.

He's gonna fail on this bike, simple as that - rossi the smoothest rider ever couldnt get the pig to move and dovi is too similar. This should have been Cal's ride, he's the type who can strangle a bike to get it to work for him just like Casey could but now we'll never know. So eager to get the italian rider in that they overlook what could actually be best for the team

Wish you the best of luck Dovi. I hope Ducati follow the way that Rossi&co showed tham and produce a competitive bike for you to win a title on that bike and put an end to only-casey-can-ride-Ducati thing. Gooo Dovi gooooooo. Bring on 2013

@ there there now

It's because Rossi knows when he's beeing BS'd. Ducati as a whole over promises and under delivers - I say this as an avid Ducati fan/rider!

Rossi was a dream come true for Ducati and they effed it up. Whatever they threw at Rossi, cut that level of commitment in half and that's what Dovi will get.

Also, I'm not convinced that Audi (or Lambo, or whoever actually owns Ducati) is as committed as some may think.

To all the simpletons who think that Audi is simply going to walk in and say “here is a treasure chest, fix this”, think again! VW group didn't get where they are by being stupid and lavish! They own nearly 20% of Suzuki and look how that turned out. Detailed analysis and a lot of corporate oversight will be the norm. The one thing that will happen is that they will be able to leverage the formidable engineering power of Audi (VW) which is not to be trifled with! Can they get on course without more pain? Or more to the point can they do it with the people now in place? Who knows? The one inarguable point is that MotoGP is on life support and needs Ducati more than ever (especially since Rossi's defection) just to legitimize this series. Without them it(MotoGP) turns into a Yamaha VS Honda, pick the best Spaniard, deck hosing contest.

"rossi knows when he is being bs'd"

well yea, he is the master of BS so i would hope he can spot it

Val is the one full of it... "no wall" "jorge is no.1"
bullllllllll..... we all know soon as rossi walks into the garage the tension and drama will start... it follows him around... kinda like little girls complaining about drama on facebook all the time... guess what, its not everyone else its you... or in this case, its rossi that causes all the drama not everyone else ffs
