"said Smith, a 125cc grand prix winner and Moto2 podium finisher. "
Oh man, i don't know what Herve has in mind with this kid. A moto2 podium finisher???? What an 'outstanding achievement'!! There are a lot of better riders he can pick up and put them on competitive Tech3 machine! Melandri, Loris Baz, even Biaggi and Checa!!

To people putting brad down. Listen to those who actually know, the commentators, the riders and herve, they can all see talent and I've heard all of them suggesting he deserves it and will show his true form on a GP bike. Before Stoner signed for Ducati he came 29th, 12th, 8th, 5th, 2nd and 8th but again talent can be hard to see to you armchair critics

Good for Cal! I do not believe Herve was honest by saying this was the best he could do! he has the premiere satellite seat in the paddock! Pol Esparago, Redding, Iannone, Tito, Johnny Rea, Etc would have all been better choices over Bradley. First off, to even be considered for a seat means you have ability, i am not suggesting Smith does not but other riders have shown way more potential than Smith. Hell Melandri should have been approached.
Anyway we all know that there is really no set prerequisite for success in MGP...Stoner did not accomplish any titles in 125, and 250 but look at him now.
So good luck to BS because if he fails drastically then the racing is really going to be crappy next year with so little to look forward to!

Firstly I think he has been a bit of a victim regarding the factory rides but come off it tech 3 is only a breath away. Good luck cal. Right team, they'll bring you on nicely.

Cal yes

Brad NO

Tech3 are in for their worst season in years.

This will cost them sponsors in the long run.

Herve had made a massive error in Smith.

RDP would be a better choice.
So would putting Smith on CRT for at least a year.

Only 4 M1s.....so sad to waste one.

Smith on a Tech3 bike....
Herve confident of Smiths talent....
The biggest mystery in maybe 30 years of GP history....
javascript:insertTextCursor('comment',%20':?')
Anyway, time will tell. We will know whether Herve is genius or stupidest man in the GP history in 6 months...
