Good to hear Spies is now looking set to remain in MotoGP on a factory-spec RCV.

If this series needs to keep its status as a true World Championship, it needs to keep up its quota of non-European riders. It needs more of them, not less.

I think it's the a good thing also that the mooted defections to WSBK by the likes of Dovi, Ben & Cal aren't going to happen after all. MotoGP is the blue riband class of racing and ought to feature the best riders.

@Don-R
How strong are the rumours that he will join Honda for 2013? Are Honda pushing for Spies in hope of improvements on American Sales?
Love to see him aboard A Gresini Honda!!

On paper the switch to Gresini would be a winner for the series as well as Spies as whatever his problems he is fast. Edwards might decide to call it a day and we need at least 2 Americans I think.

@ RocketR1

Now very strong!

Apparently the moves to put it together are coming not from Honda so much as Ezpeleta. Losing Spies to WSBK would be a credibility hit to the series, and he doesn't want that.

Pretty much every journo is tweeting about it (@birtymotogp) but the most interesting comments are from Ben himself at bikesportnews.

Just finished reading it,Almost sounds like he will take the deal,Also read that BMW have offered Haslem a deal now that Spies looks set to Stay in MoToGP.
I still think Ben has something left to prove here..WSBK is better racing but Ben has been there and dominated already.I think he should try another season with a fresh start.
