@RocketR1

Smith himself has said, that Yamaha were expecting consistant top 5 results, for the year to get the bike, if they wanted him out of the contract, they could do it

I guess I would like to know what bike Gresini will run next year? Will it be the current RC213v or one of the new customer spec "CRT on roids" bikes (name escapes me at the moment)Honda has up its sleeve? If its the latter, asking a rookie to assimilate and develop Bridgestone tires, carbon brakes and an all new chassis and electronics package would be a tall order. Smith and Marquez have the luxury of trotting in and riding fully developed packages. Just a thought.

"Spies takes wide lines and makes late apexes... exactly what he doesn't need for a Honda. With the Honda you have to brake hard at the apex and turn the bike from there - you can't ride with understeer because it just won't work and Ben has already crashed too many times on a Yamaha as a result of this"

So you actually rode both bikes then? ok...

Spies would do great at Gresini for one reason and one reason only, its not factory Yamaha. Once Ben Spies gets clear of that team and the shenanigans they've pulled, he will be back to where he was.

@ Wacko

It would definitely be the satellite version of the 2013 RCV, and not the 'production prototype' in development.

But exactly how close it would be to factory spec, and how quickly development parts would filter down from the factory team, are still in question, which is why I think Spies is being non-committal right now. The team isn't in great shape financially either, and that may have some bearing on the level of equipment throughout the year.

I would think Spies would want some assurances from HRC before going ahead and signing.

i do think herve thinks their moto2 bike is crap, it hasnt been developed like the other bikes, god knows why, i thought he would be rolling in it with the motogp results and decent sponsorship.

i do think scott deserves a motogp ride, look at the size of him, have you seen how he gets left on the straights, he must have to carry sooo much corner speed to compensate. i defo think scott will do well not so sure about bradley though, fingers crossed
