I reckon he should call it quits before something really bad happens. Im sure Yamaha would be happy to release him from his contract (what have they got to loose?) MotoGP unfortunately does not seem to suit Ben. Last thing we want is another Marco Simoncelli. He should go now and let some other rider see out the remainder of the season.

I thought Ben Spies luck and lack of results were pretty sad until I started reading some of the hate on this thread. Wow is all I can say. People need to stop wasting their time throwing their poo pretending its 2 cents.

'The truth hurts'
Been there, done that. I have nothing against Yamaha, quite the opposite in fact as i have huge respect for them, but i prefer it where i am thanks. :-)

The comments to the effect that Spies somehow fired the clutch through his own actions/misuse are complete nonsense. Everything--e.g., engine and clutch--on the bikes is computer controlled. Launch control, anti-wheelie, traction control, engine braking, etc. are all managed by the computer. The computer sets the available horsepower and how it's fed to the rear wheel. Rider couldn't hardly fry the clutch if he tried.

And, "kel", the notion that the factories build bikes with clutches that can't handle full engine output or aggresive acceleration inputs from the riders is absolutely absurd. The things are built to go as fast as the riders can take them, period.

probably something electronic with the launch control for the race start ( holeshot).

Bens had his share of problems. looks like he lowsided closing the gap later in the race.

What a bunch of troll bafoons on this board. Insighting hatred and paranoia, what class acts you are!

Ben effed up and said as much. Gave a reason for the first lap drop. It's not like he normally drops like that (anymore).

As to Gresini, I'm on the fence. He is GP quality but this series is just going down the drain.
