Ben should definitely go to Honda Gresini. Imagine that's a very fast bike and Ben's a very fast rider. Imagine the motivation he will have next year to ride a Honda and beat arch rival Yamaha. Next year's Honda four are looking strong if they get Ben Spies: Pedrosa, Marquez, Bradle and Spies. Yamaha with Lorenzo, Rossi, Crutchlow and . . . ? also looks strong.

Gotta love the picture with the article. Not unique to Spies, but the elbow almost being on the ground is really quite amazing to see. Recall seeing Spies while in the AMA at a particular race in Virginia (VIR) 2008. An up hill set of curves where I was just amazed to see how fast the Ben was going with the elbow dragging!

Bad show for Yamaha, not that anyone from the blue team appears to be screwing up outright, but when a single rider has this many mechanical snafu's you know there are more than a few embarrassed engineers.

Spies just forget riding for Yamaha for the rest of the year mate, NO ONE, at this level of motorsports has that much bad luck. At the beginning of year I had the impression that maybe the yanks were too over zelous with their speculations. At this point, I'm convinced Yamaha is giving you royal rugged rogering. Sorry mate, best of luck to you wherever you land.

re: "He regrouped and scythed through the field to climb to eighth position"

abraham lincoln, vampire hunter. benjamin spies, CRT hunter...!!! :D bike still strangely rolled off it's tyres well before full lean. verbally, he cops to a mistake, but his body language/hand gesture in the gravel suggests different.

re: "On the other hand, is there any point in him going back to WSBK to do again what he's already done?"

you bet your a$$ pal...!!! :D anybody can have it all come together once. an even better measure is can you defend...? can you repeat...? edwards had an asterisk next to his title in '00, i removed it when him and gorst took it bayliss in '02. fogarty, mladin, rossi, doohan, dunlop, etc laid out a standard for DYNASTIC RULE.
