Well, Rea is still more than 5 secs off the pace. That's a lot. I wonder how he'll fare in the races but I suppose he'll be competing with Abraham... at best. But we'll see... anything is possible and maybe he's gonna be a pleasant surprise.

Jeez people, the guy has done like 10 laps on a new bike and you expect him to deliver right off the bat ... get real, it's new tyres and carbon brakes ... the 2 biggest differences between SBK and MotoGP, give him some time !!!

Well maybe Rea is still getting used to being back on a RCV wich he did test in 2010 btw, but the gap to the top or even factory ride's looks a bit big atm, and i dont think HRC will be impressed by Rea if he doesnt trow in sum fast laps...but then again what if they told him not to trash the bike then he is more forced to take it easy of course...

Hmm, ok, I can understand that Rea doesn't know the bike and doesn't want to do anything foolish, but 4 seconds off the pace after 27 laps seems a lot. Still, he may produce something later on. What can be considered as a reasonable gap? 2 seconds? Or is that too much...

I'm not a fan of Rea but I'm all for having another brit in MotoGP. Anyone that doubts him well I have a bit of news for you, his best time at Brno this year was a 1:59.5. So he still has a lot of time for improvement and he'll certainly get quicker as the day goes on.
