Harsh (& God forbid it happening cos then it really is not funny) - but a wisecrack that really did make me laugh.

I'm convinced now, a crasher always have a place at Ducati. The smartest crasher will succeed very well if they quickly adapt and understand the physics of Ducati.

While non-crasher will lost their way wasting time to change Ducati to fit them instead of learn to adapt the Ducati.

Gonna guess that Iannone will be the top Ducati rider next year, followed by Nicky. I think Dovi and Ben will scrap it out for the final "Ducati Podium" position, and let's see....hmm....gonna go with Dovi taking it.

Ben just seems like the biggest head case of the bunch, and the Ducati will drive him up the wall!

We are talking about a calculated gamble here...

Dovi. Gets a factory bike and a great paycheque for the next 2 seasons. If it goes his way, then Dovi just did something Rossi could not. If it doesn't, then they'll say "well, Rossi couldn't make it work either".

Spies. Had little to lose, and if he goes well is on the shortest possible route to a factory ride in 12 mths time. If not, "well he's on a satellite Pramac Ducati, and no-ones done well on them have they".

I reckon both Ducati and the riders they've signed all have good motivation to work hard for the venture to succeed, and stand to gain a great deal if they can get back to the front.

Gresini Honda would not have got Ben podiums or a better ride, so in his position and point in his career it was a non-starter I reckon.
