Would agree with the above but would add Ducati are now operating off Audi money and will expect a return. Audi are no fools with their business decisions so all this may pan out in the way of competitive Ducati machines. That would be great for the sport of MotoGP.

I think Audi and Dovi will make Ducaudi very competitive next year. Hayden will improve his results but the Honda and Yamaha teams will be stronger yet. A few podiums for Ducati. Honda and Yamaha will fight for the top step week in and week out.

If the junior team bikes are indeed full factory and are being well supported it will be super difficult to predict top ducati rider next year - any of the 4 could do it. As for pulling off surprises I think you'll need to wait until the second half of the season but yeah I can see them taking a few podiums.

Having followed numerous forms of motor sport for 45 years I cannot help think that the problems of financing teams at this level face a major hurdle , F1. Bernie's pet hoover up sponsors ,circuit finance and tv rights in a wholly dis-proportionate way. He has no interest in bikes and is happy to see other formula fail , Group C and WRC to name but a few. So in Moto GP we have small grids, WSB loses Yamaha Italy and BMW in two years , WRC loses Mini WRC , WEC loses Peugeot. Moto GP may lose Ducati , has lost Suzuki ,Aprilia and Kawasaki. FI has a core of forever teams built on long term finance , Moto GP has Repsol. Bernie has won.

Giving Bradley Smith a Tech 3 Yamaha ride is a waste of a seat. He is not good enough in Moto 2 to warrant it. God knows how his management wangled a deal like that for him.
