“It's great to have Johnny here. He deserves the opportunity, as do a lot of the guys in World Superbike” - Cal Crutchlow.

What an attitude, I didn't really have any need to comment on this but...,"stay out of their way" " break earlier" you really are a FAN.

I say F..k all of them, he's been given the chance go for it, if he qualifies half decent and you can get a lap or so at the front or even better, why not?

People with your F1 attitude need to be pushed right out of racing. I had sh.t like that when I first started racing, its rubbish you race whos in the race, who wins, is on that day, that race. Go watch F1

Go JR try your best and dont worry about upsetting any of them up, you have just as much right to be there as anyone else..

You can call him a crasher if you want but look at what he has to ride this season, just like the Ducati in wsbk they are having to push the bike too hard to compete. And as for wsbk riders not adjusting it was Troy Bayliss on the Ducati who to be fair had no worse results than Capi and overall better than Checa and Gibernau who replaced him. The reality is though he wont just adjust to that bike overnight but at least give him a chance Id love to see any of us do better!!

Duh yep rod99 got my Troys mixed up. Still reckon I'm right about setup experience. Also forgot, er, the small matter of Moto2 and 3 graduates already knowing the GP circuits whereas ex-WSB guys have to spend a season learning them. Won't speculate on how fast Bradley Smith will ultimately be compared to Cal, but expect him to be on the pace sooner than Cal was for those two reasons.

I still don't get why "disagree" is the response to any comment praising Rea, or saying that he should be in GP. Must be the weak country-club mentality. The more fight to the death guys we have in this series, the better. Jealous know-it-all's, they are everywhere. Rea is just another small spark to the increasingly yawn-inspiring GP series... I know he will be lucky to beat the CRT's and maybe a Ducati but he will still deliver some great racing. Glad to see there are some good spirits on this website and not just jaded codgers.

Rea's policy for the race should be simply to stay on the RV213V until the finish. Abandon heroics. Falling off and bringing the bike back in a handcart won't teach him anything and won't impress Honda. But if he stays on the thing he's almost guaranteed a top eight finish. He can improve on that in the subsequent race.
And isn't it significant that Stoner's absence goes almost without comment ?
