'I am feeling really confident after scoring my first podium in Brno and the good thing is we have carried that momentum to here' - Cal Crutchlow

According to GPOne, Cal was given a factory M1 for the Brno test. I don't know if that's true or not, but I do know he was testing for Yamaha that day rather than Tech 3. And if you look at the fact that both Spies and Dovi (both future Duc pilots) packed up and left early with nothing to do while Crutchlow tested all day, it does suggest that Yamaha might be investing a little more into him now.

If they're not then I hope his new contract stipulates it for next year, because there are going to be 4 full factory Dukes on the grid and at least 3 full factory Hondas. Yamaha are going to be outgunned unless they step up and level out the numbers.

As someone who hasn't been very impressed by Crutchlow in MotoGP up to now, I'm pleased to see that he's cleaned his "smartass" act up a bit and now responds to questions like an adult instead of trying to prove what a Jack The Lad he is. If he can stay out of the weeds too he might even do well.

Cal has proven a lot of his critics wrong: but sublime?
Wait until he wins a dry race.If GPone is right, maybe Cal is plan B if Rossi falls flat on his expensive tush. But Cal never showed consistency in WSBK so I am still a skeptic.
