MotoGP » Lorenzo 'much calmer' after Pedrosa loses ground

'We have to be happy with our result and the point advantage we now have, for sure we are much more calm now than before the race' - Jorge Lorenzo

For those who think that Pedrosa's fall today makes up for Lorenzo's at Assen, think again: Pedrosa still gained 4 points, because at Assen Lorenzo would have scored 25 points and Pedrosa, being 3rd instead of 2nd, would have scored 16 instead of the 20 he did.

4 points. Championships have been decided by smaller margins.

4 points and one more engine. Think again. Luck still owes Lorenzo big time.

Using that logic you could also argue that Lorenzo gained 1 point overall. Had Pedrosa won today not only would he have gained 25 points but Lorenzo would have only gotten 20.

@Kenny's boss, you are talking rubbish, Lorenzo crash last year at the Australian gp and injure himself to miss the final 3 races and hand the championship to Stoner, it happens to him and anyone.

Now stop the troll please!

@King Kenny
No. JL would only manage 3rd in Assen. And let's not forget he was basically given the title on a plate anyway when Ezy introduced the new tires mid-season.

well I suspect the race did'nt go as most of us hoped!

why they did'nt leave Karel sitting on the line with his hand up in the 1st. start we will never know?

good show by Val. for sure. Hopefully Ducati has found something. Spie's finally finished a race!

Dovi/ Bautista was a show.

sadly the start may have finished it for us fans.

Jorge always keeps himseself in the game.

King Dummy ... so i guess Stoner was LUCKY last year as no one took himout in Le mans, injured him, and kept him away for three races ... so his 2011 title was a lesser one as he was LUCKIER than jis teamate ... you realize wjat a crock of cra p your reasoning is, don t you?

He ought to be as this virtually guarantees him the championship (remember that if Lorenzo had only won one of the remaining races but finished second to Dani in the rest), he (Lorenzo) would have won the championship. And that was before today's disaster!

Look at it anyway you like but now we get a true comparison between the 2 riders because they have now both finished the same number of races and: Lorenzo has 6 wins versus 3 for Pedrosas and Lorenzo still has not finished lower than 2nd. This was the equalizer and nothing more. Tough luck for Pedrosa just like it was tough luck for Lorenza when it happened to him!
