I feel sorry for the guy but don't agree with more regulations to try and level things out. Someone else comes with another claim of unfairness and another rule is invented. More rules will only complicate things and it will never stop.
Sounds a bit like trying to impose a maximum length for basketball players if you ask me...

For racing fans it's not about the nationality of the rider (though it is part of life that if you come from some nations then your CHANCES of GETTING INTO a series are higher for sure) - it's about the RACING.
If there is a situation which gives a significant advantage to a select few or one, then it is always to the detriment of the RACING, as well as those who have no opportunity to counteract or adopt similar advantages to level the playing field.
In the case of Marquez, it is hard to see how the guy could have any MORE advantages than he does - and when you consider that Moto2 is a CONTROL series to make the racing fair and competitive then it becomes less than a joke.
I think you're the one with the nationalistic issues - you posted not on topic really, but just to have a bash at the Brits!

You may joke about creating a Redding rule to allow for his weight, but the rookie rule being done away with might as well be called the Marquez rule because if it wasn't for repsol Honda wanting him to move up to moto gp then it would still be in place for next year.

I am struggling to understand how anyone can argue against Scotts claims as, they are backed up by simple physics. If I ride my seven year old's 50cc race bike, it will not accelerate as fast or, reach the same top speed as when he is riding it because, I am taller and weigh more.

All three capacities of racing MUST have minimum total weight limits. I remember in the mid 1960's Bill Ivy had to race with bike chain wrapped around ankles (under his boots, to make the minimum weight limit). A bit dodgy when he fell off, As we say here...SUCH IS LIFE... SUCK IT UP.

What the fock does it matter???? Im tuning out at the end of this season. I'm not much interested in following the Spantalian (world ??) Championship anyway. AS I have said before DORNA HAVE KILLED MotoGP...As the DEATH KNELL tolls in the distance, the DIRGES can can be heard, wailed in mourning, punctuated by the curses of disdain "DAMN YOU CARMELLO"

@ Smaller guys will always have the smaller frontal area working for them - less aerodynamic drag.

I'm all to familiar with preferential treatment in the sport, but it's a business and sadly the playing field will likely never be level.

And to those comparing MGP to F1, it is not the same. In F1 the pilots SIT in the car and steer with a wheel, where body weight/transfer/movement are much less of a factor.

Let's pretend the minimum weight rule is set at 500lbs. A 150lbs rider would therefore be allowed on a 350lbs bike, ie: a bike that is only 2.3X his weight. But if you're naturally small, say 100lbs, then you would be forced to contend with a machine 4X your size! How is that fair?

Power:Weight is important, sure, but it is not the be all and end all of motorcycle racing as some are suggesting.
