MotoGP » Island feat 'may be step too far' for Stoner

'I think it's going to be tough to make it six in a row, but we'll definitely be there, even if they have to duct-tape me to the bike' - Casey Stoner

Just an aside to this thread,

A very interesting photo of Stoners crash at Indy in the latest AMCN.
The shot shows the rear tyre (with no rim) flying through the air!....how can this happen without a catastrophic failure of the rear axle/wheel/swingarm assembly?

Im Australian and I don't like v8 supercar racing. I try so hard but I just can't do it. Its a bit unfair to say all Australians like it
I prefer two wheel racing any day
Not a fan of endurance racing either one driver per vehicle IMO the only team a driver should have is his pit crew. I watched the 500 last weekend and my opinion didn't change:(

im sorry to say but the v8 supercar championship is so much more competitive than motogp simply due to closer polarity in the cars. he will get eaten and i say EATEN up by the like of whincup, lowndnes and co. i wish him luck though

Prolly go as good as gardener.
I don't think ATM he is expecting to be as good as them. It's just a different challenge, plus now he can live in Australia again he will just need a maximum of a four hour flight to get home not a 20

The series may get a little more interesting once merc and Nissan join in. Bit more variety in manufacturers couldn't hurt the sport. Aside from the bogan Holden V ford rivalry. But if Nissan will more than likely get banned again because they will build a car thatll dump all over the competition like before haha.

"Rossi thread....."Runner-up Rossi: That was for Super Sic" gets 112 posts in 3 days and this Casey thread gets 100 posts in 9 hrs and people say Rossi is the popular one.....hahahahaha

I dont care if he doesnt win I just want to see him ride for the last time as there is no one who can ride a bike like him and the good thing is a lot of ex World Champions think exactly the same thing."

2 points...

Now, that all the other stats dont seem to make stoner the best "GOAT", you somehow think that posts per hour do? rossi still kicks here, again, a stoner fan only looking at one thread out of how many?

A lot of these ex world champions also think rossi is a living legend. So, do these people not know what's going on or are you arguing for argument sake and again, only selecting opinions that suit your argument.

Never say never

I doubt very much if he will try and tackle the main series first, a mistake that Bayliss made.

Incredible.
There is no end to the amount of crap you write to defend your idol.
Why did you try and belittle Bayliss(one of the best bike riders Aust has produced, and a true sportsman) to prove a point?
Why not use Wayne Gardner as an example?
He jumped in at the deep end, and nearly won Bathurst.
You have to be related to Stoner, right?
No one can be that one eyed.

@ V8s blow
I agree. The V8 Supercar model is based on NASCAR series in the US, this is why it has lost a lot of appeal. The series used to be quite good on the late 70s and 80s, Grice, Brock, Richards and Moffat era.
I think Casey will soon realise that the V8 series is just as contrived as MOTOGP..
