'I think it's going to be tough to make it six in a row, but we'll definitely be there, even if they have to duct-tape me to the bike' - Casey Stoner

Casey has earned the right to do whatever the hell he likes. He turned down megabucks from Honda cos he just didn't have the passion to do it anymore, and after what he's achieved, and supersic's death and the birth of his baby, who can blame him. Having said that I hope comes back.

Best rider I've ever seen. If he's half as good behind the wheel he'll take a V8 title as well.

@Seriously, whilst V8 supercars is not F1 or MOTOGP, it is an amazing series to watch live, the amount of current and ex F1 and Indy car drivers etc..... that have driven in the series a is a testament to it's growing popularity, and they all want to come back, next year no Ford/Holden monopoly, Nissan and Merc into the fray.

Wherever you go in competitive sport Casey there will be politics. Motogp, V8'S, fishing, knitting. Nothing will change for you even if you go car racing. You'll be bitchin at the first sign of an iffy overtake, a cut up, tyres etc The first sign of a tantrum and the australians will be wondering if your an australian at all. If i was an aussie i'de be pretty embbarassed by your petulant outbursts.

Well LCtanner, you're clearly not an Aussie, if you were you would be familiar with the type of attitude that has no respect for preprogrammed, manipulated outcomes and the desire to just give it everything.
Aussies have done more than just ok since it became viable for them to live in a van or a box trailer in a foreign country, I'm an Aussie and I love his attitude, always have.
Tantrums are absolutely acceptable when you can back up with results and Stoner has them in spades, he'll do well wherever he goes.

"duck tape me to the bike"

oh come on mate, its a broken ankle, withe surgery already done and all the healing and physio im sure you are getting it wouldnt be that difficult to get on the bike. JLo rode with 2 broken ankles, Rossi rode with a broken leg, Doohan had to be lifted onto his bike, the list goes on of injured riders.
Man up.

good luck in the V8 supercars, dont forget son, "rubbin is racin" specially on 4 wheels.

He came, he conquered, he beat them all, and acheived more whilst being there. He beat everyone that was put in front of him, and put on great shows for us fans!

A true racer who gives it 100% each and every race! He has shown the world that he can win regardless of what bike he's on! He says what he thinks with no nonsense and wears his heart on his sleeve. I have huge respect for that, and huge respect for Stoner himself, not only for his acheivements, but for his no nonsense attitude and great character!

Good luck in the V8's buddy!

Good on the guy if he wants to race cars up and down the coast of Australia within an hour or two of his beautiful home. A couple of trips to Bahrain and the states each year, be just like a holiday while still getting his fix while learning.
Scary thing is he could still prolly jump on a bike any time in the next 5 or 6 years and bung it on pole!
Those that deride are clearly jealous, I know I am.

face facts, he's not interested in motogp anymore because he is out of the WC race and cant win it,
he's more focused on V8 supercars now.

might aswel not bother coming back mate, you arent even going to the motogp races to support your team, many other riders still turn up when injured.

and the fact that Rossi is the fan favorit at Phillip Island, not you, he always has and always will.

i go to the Island every year, the amount of fan queing up to see Rossi and get is autograph is a sight to be seen, its like a rock concert. and he try's to make as much time and sign as many as he can for his fans.

Good luck with the V8's, you're going to need it. lol
make sure you leave your moaning boots at home, coz it wont be tollerated in the world of supercar racing.
