'I think it's going to be tough to make it six in a row, but we'll definitely be there, even if they have to duct-tape me to the bike' - Casey Stoner

re: "the other is small world Aussie manufactured racing."

at one point, but not any more. it's on-track for "global nascar" status. something 2L touring hasn't quite been able to crack. the rest of the planet (especially the yanks) seem to embrace whatever OZ exports. it's moto world curmudgeons that stand alone in their dislike for things "aussie".

"Casey does not have to give any reason for leaving MotoGP, nor does he have to state his intended plans either." @Porcupine...exactly..why is he giving all these stupid reasons??

LCTanner, who was the mos successful rider over the last 17 years? Ill answer that one, its an question to answer.....Rossi.

Now your question was just as 'loaded' if not more 'loaded' than mine. Although the difference between my question and yours is that both riders in question have raced together over the last 7 years. Over 7 years ago, only oe of the 2 riders in question were present, making any comparison futile and pointless.

Can you answer my question now please? Who is the most successful rider over the last 7 years? I would love to hear your answer. Please just state the name of the rider instead of sqirming around the question like Realist does.

Rossi thread....."Runner-up Rossi: That was for Super Sic" gets 112 posts in 3 days and this Casey thread gets 100 posts in 9 hrs and people say Rossi is the popular one.....hahahahaha

I dont care if he doesnt win I just want to see him ride for the last time as there is no one who can ride a bike like him and the good thing is a lot of ex World Champions think exactly the same thing.

Is not your answer self evident! He gives answers/reasons because we keep asking him for them.

I wonder given his attitude to motogp now if the whole idea for taking on the world in motogp was his, or maybe it was his dads and he's gone with the flow until now. I would think his father who manged him, drop him all over Europe and Aussie, coachd him and cajoled him to where is, might be thinking 'V8's you kidding me!'

Perhaps Casey's finally given the two fingers to pop.

Im an Aussie, and im pretty disapointed that he is leaving, but hey, Its his choice.! I do whatever i want to do, so why cant he??
It would be really cool if he had a season or 2 in Aussie super bikes or FX down the track.
Mabey he will be in the vintage raceing, how cool would that be !!
It would really bring the crowds back to aussie racing and also inspire lots of young guys as well.
Its like he is reaching puberty, and saying i want to do it my way!!
Not so sure about V8s, Im an ex racer (domestic and not very good)and he would have way more fun sticking to what he knows.
The V8 guys are good, but nothing like 2 wheels

I only hope if he does switch to V8's that his manager taps him on the shoulder and tells him that it's his personality and fan base that will keep him in the car, NOT his on track results.

V8's are a show to provide entertainment to Australia's lowest common denominator (Ford,Holden muscle car Boofheads). If Casey ignores that to focus on results he'll lose his seat quicksmart if the results don't come straight away.

Get the fan base and revenue stream locked in first then worry about trying to win something...
