Tomcol
You are really guessing comparing Jonathan & Cal. Cal has achieved - ie proof. Jonathan has promised ie your conjecture. IMO Cal is the better as of now. By the way, how do you define a more 'rounded rider'? It took Casey until his third Moto GP to podium so JR aint doing too bad. Oh and I am Casey's No.1 fan in case you think I'm being critical.

He has bloody flying on a track with wet patches very little time on the bike and is faster than two world champions... But because he hasnt crashed like mmm two world champions you cant call him crasher so have to find other petty little digs. that second would disappear pretty quick if he had the same time on the bike as the rest and it doesnt have all the same parts as stoners bike

Re: Cal, who btw is doing great things...the difference is JR will find the limit, Cal never will. When JR does...the rest better watch out !

What do I know ... just winding up the idiots ....

Awesome job Mr. Rea. I cant help but root for ANY superbike guy in GP's as they have always been the underdogs. Keep it upright and fight with those Ducati's
! Some haters on this site think your job is easy or something LMFAO! Hilarious!!!!

He won't be ashamed like some other stand-in riders who jumped in MotoGP, but he's not near outstanding. He had one test in Aragon, another test and one race weekend. How much time should he needed to catch up and find the limit, as he says?

Im thinking he should be at least 7th depending on how good the factory Ducaties run..Hasn't had much seat time but does have a good bike and has tested/Raced on this circuit previously.
Im wondering if he is on Caseys old bike or did Honda give him the latest RCV like Dani is running(KC perfered the old chassis/New engine I think)

Gee all the arm chair experts are out in force .Rea is doing a great job , he is still keeping it black side down and learning FFS he is also still flying back and forth to compete in Superbike races.. No time on the bike in comparison to most of the grid and qualify 7th in not ideal conditions is bloody great .
And as for the "Fastest Bike" err cough cough , its only the fastest bike when its on pole , The fastest bike at Aragon is Lorenzos Yamaha simple .

in conditions lorenzo admitted were very difficult.

plus id imagine its the tyres and brakes that are hard to get used to rather than the speed of the bike

I like Rea but what this proves is the best machinery makes good riders like Rea better. Any current MotoGP rider in the field today on that bike is qualifying near where he did or higher. This is why Rossi will immediately be competitive and also why MMarquez will too. It's also why anyone else in the GP field other than the two Ducati riders would fall off the pace on that machine...
