MotoGP » Rossi last to eighth after Rea tangle

“It's a shame about the mistake on the first lap. Rea couldn't see me and pushed me close to the curb, and I went straight to avoid him” – Valentino Rossi.

Rea didn't brake early, he braked to make the corner on the racing line. Rossi braked late (too late to make the corner I think) and tried to ????????
Will be eaten alive next year by Lorenzo.

Obviously misano was owing to the fact that they had tested there and no one else had. now normal service has been resumed and the ducati is again the dreaded 1.6 seconds slower than the front runners. Rossi on the yamaha again can't come soon enough and don't believe the Valentino kidology that he might not be able to stay with Lorenzo, he doesn't believe that for a second and neither do I. In a straight up dog fight vale wins 9times out of 10.

@bigphil sp2 you're talking bollox man ! It was clear to see Rossi came up against Rea faster as he had 2 riders directly infront of him punching a bigger hole in the air and when Rea braked he moved across infront of Rossi,he didnt know Rossi was there.Rossi deserves some credit for getting back behind Rea by the end.And if age is a factor why are the 40 year olds winning world championships in WSB which is clearly closer racing at almost the same pace ? Rossi is 33,thats young these days.Roberts snr retired at 32,riders now dont hit their peak until that age usually, unless youre Rossi etc.

I think it was a simple case that Rossi didn't expect Rea to brake as early as he did. Remember Rea isn't as used to cold tires & brakes on the 1st lap so probably braked a bit earlier than Rossi anticipated. I'm not blaming Rea, I just think it was a racing incident & Rossi fought back well and his lap times were consistent.

What people tend to forget is that Yamaha & Honda tested there 3 weeks ago so the washout for the 1st day and a half would have affected Ducati more on set up than the others.

@ Owned and exposed ''Rossi 8th, and owned by Rea who only arrived a couple of weeks ago. Laughing stock.''

What? Yet another non motoGP fan posting I see.

Rossi - 8th to Last to 8th
Rea - 7th to 7th.

For Rossi to catch Rea back up, who had the fastest race pace?

Some people ehh, not the sharpest card in the pack perhaps. Now back to MotoGP sensible debate.
