Superbike? don't you remember his audition on the BMW? He was laughed out of the test. "tank was too big" Elias has become a one trick pony. On a certain/perfect bike, at a certain track, in certain weather, he is awesome. But in real life, at 99% of the tracks, on 99% of the bikes in any series, he's a perennial back marker. Not my opinion, check the last 3 years. If I hear one more "his style doesn't suit the tyres BS"!!!!
Toni has an obvious, unique, extreme riding style of almost crawling under the bike on a turn. and it simply doesn't work. (though it's a blast to watch) And THAT is not his biggest problem. It is that he does not accept that his style does not work so he can change it. Definition of insanity - do the same thing over and over again and expect different results.

@motomoto .. Perenial back marker? Yeah, he's had a rough go the past two years, but he was the Moto2 champion for a reason. He rode brilliantly that year, and in a variety of conditions.
The year prior to his championship he was 7th overall in GP. Most would say that he didn't even deserve the demotion to Moto2, and he even crossed the line ahead of Dovi on the Repsol on several occasions.
Yeah, his style is peculiar, and requires finer tuning, but this is the big leagues - not your average club race. If your tools aren't at their sharpest, you will falter at this level. eg: VR

Good luck to the guy. He's not had a good couple of seasons, but some people on here seem to have forgotten 2010 already. Unless of course they've only been following the sport for 18 months. Wouldn't surprise me.

motomoto and 098o are both a little right.

First thing, Elias is one of few riders to have won a MotoGP race.
Second, he was better than de Angelis when they were on the same team, and he was the best of the satellite bikes.
Clearly, he should never have been pushed down to Moto2 - if results were the single deciding factor.

This year, he also consistently performed better than Terol, then Terol has done even after improming, also including Torres.

Struggling with Chassis doesn't seem to be Elias-specific. The same goes for de Angelis, who has been consistently good, but this year, he is struggling after moving to Forward racing.

On the other hand, he performed like crap on the LCR Honda. It was painful to witness. And seeing Bradl tearing it up, really rubs it in.

I was with you up until this point.

Saying "the LCR" Honda suggests that the 2011 and 2012 LCR bikes were similar. They're not. Because the litre bikes are new, just like the Yamahas the Honda satellite bikes are closer to the factory bikes than the 2011 bikes were. Sure it appears that the Yamahas might be close than the Hondas. The thing is though the longer a particular bike has been around the further the satellite bikes get from the factory bikes. Bradl is closer to the front partly because of his ability, but mostly because his bike is closer to the factory bikes.

@Angel Nieto

#1 Please stop taking the great man's name in vain.

#2 Since there are at least two opposing points of view here, how can everybody be full of crap?

#3 Piss off back to trolling the Justin Bieber message boards where you belong.
