No. win on your own merit because if Casey were to come back and help, even as a team mate, there will always be some to say he couldnt win it on his own. This way if he is truly strong enough and truly worthy he will win, If he isnt then he wont. Winning isnt given to you, you must take it!

Nobody should be helping anybody. Look what a boring spectacle F1 became when team orders were rampant. Drivers being told to slow down so the cheat Schumacher could win. Team orders should be banned, and any evidence or team orders in a race and the team should be stripped of points.

I agree with everyone on the fact that the Title should be won without any help BUT, what if Pedrosa is out front and Lorenzo is behind him with Stoner 3rd? Shouldn't Stoner at least try to take some points off of Lorenzo? If not for Pedro at least for Honda's sake? Honda didn't field two riders only to watch them not keep Honda's best interests at mind as well. Honda is a company who helps pay Stoner AND Pedrosa's salaries and if one of them is not in the running for the title and won't help the other Honda rider who does have a chance, why would Honda have employed them? Do you honestly think that Honda will sit back and say to Stoner: "Weeeelp, since you have no mathmatical chance at winning this year's championship, we won't mind if decide not to use your blazing speed to help bring a title home for us." Please people, like the politics or not, Stoner should at least try to help keep Lorenzo at bay. Now, if Pedrosa is just plain to slow and Stoner has a chance to beat him, he will.

To leave the series knowing you had the power to 'let' your team mate slip inconspicuously by for the race win and the title would be the ultimate satisfying ending. If Casey can pocket that last win at PI to put him ahead of Hailwoods tally, I reckon he'd be happy to help out and it would be a fantastic end to a dominant career.
Despite ONLY 2 titles, Stoner will be the real benchmark in the years to come, you're kidding yourself if you disagree.

Won't the ultimate satisfying ending be to win the world championship, put an end to the 'curse of the No 1 plate' and then leave?

I don't know about you, for me that would be the 'ultimate satisfying ending'. Not getting smoked by your own team mate and then crashing out at the last corner, watch your rival or team mate win the world championshop, moan and sulk a bit more, and then leave in disgrace.

Oh add in a couple of wet races at PI or Sepang, and you can count in a royal roughing up at Rossi's hands too. Yup, the ultimate satisfying ending to a crass moaner.

If Pedrosa does get a chance to win the title then Honda, being a corporation and behaving as such will tell stoner to back off. Business is business.

Anbody who thinks otherwise simply does not understand how corporations work.

But I tkink that most of us want stoner to give it 100 procent in every race.

In any event I dont think it will come to that. Lorenzo is just so solid. Worst case senario is 3rd places for lorenzo for the rest of the year. And that aint going to happen.

Whatever happens Casey will get clear cut instructions from HRC to help his teammate, if situation arises. What Casey does is another thing altogether. We have to see if he's fast right from the go after the injury, that's another thing.

At first I thought yeah, why not when it will be necessary but then I remembered how Dani helped his team mates in the past so Casey, win them all if you can! Although I am sure that Honda will take care of this problem themselves. I see Nakamoto tweaking a potentiometer remote control of the RCVs ECU during the last races. :))

Ofcourse he should help. This is a professional sport, not a knitting party.
Pedrosa and Honda will ofcourse be politically correct and say there are no team orders but damn it, there is a world title on the table!
