“At the moment, we're still missing a couple of tenths with our pace to think of the podium” – Valentino Rossi.

...But I think he still has the desire, ability and enough left in the tank to do well. I'm not sure if it will be enough to win a championship but I'm sure he'll definitely make things interesting. But all this said, even if he doesn't do well it won't erase what a great champion he is and what he's meant to MotoGP.

How is the bike in much better shape than when he got it!!!!!!!!!!
When Stoner handed him that bike it was a proven race winner!
How many races has it won in the last two years?
None.Hardly an improvement in my eyes.I think some people are getting the excuse book ready just incase Dovi puts the thing on the podium more often than Rossi did.

Vilas, yes i agree that in this recent era the Ducati has always been a dog of a bike when it comes to handling. It was when Stoner was on it, and it still is with Rossi on it.

The fact of the matter is that Stoner was ALWAYS a front runner on the Ducati, despite its issues. The reason why he 'only has one WC' with Ducati is simple. As said, Stoner was ALWAYS a front runner, but the difference between Stoner and Rossi is that Stoner has that bit extra ability inorder to make a bad bike look good. He was capable of winnign races with it, as he did MULTIPLE times. He also did not want to settle for 2nd/3rd/4th which is why he lost the front alot. He was there to win! Not to run around mid pack and collect points. Yes we all know thats whats needed to win championships, but Stoner is a true racer wands wants to stand on that top box.

That is why Stoners results hugely overshadow the results of Rossi.

And just to add, which is actually one of the most important points, Stoner was nev

.....And just to add, which is actually one of the most important points, Stoner was never matched by Hayden. NEVER! Rossi and Hayden have been proven to be very equal in fact. Stoner and Hayden were NEVER even close to equal.

Its just facts my friend, not opinions. :-)

I havent got a crystal ball Vilas so i dont know if Dovi will get the bike to the podium or not.But one thing i can do,thats look at the facts that we already know for sure. And the facts are the Ducati was a race winning bike when it was handed over to Rossi. Now it hasnt won a race since. But i will bet my last penny that if Dovi has success on the Ducati next year, all you Rossi fans will be shouting from the rooftops that it was all down to Rossi developing the bike for him!!!!!!!!!!!
Am i right?
Yeah,and you know it.

The truth hurts

If the bike turns himself into a wc contender bike offcorse is tkx to developent worck and Rossi take part on the develpent inn fact many things have change him Ducati since Rossi arrieve.. You have wach a lot of thinghs even Ducati tryingto sign Forosawa.. What you whant to say if Dovi win with Ducati is because of jesus Crist developent?? like you say the FACT is that Rossi is making developents and setp by setp is making a clear worck on the Red that can give then a better machine him 2013 but to be honest my opinian is that Ducati will be the same allways a setp beahind japan bikes they still have to learn some stuff

So what about a couple months back when Rossi stated "I don't know what the bike needs"?

The endless outcries for Ducati to build Rossi a competitve bike?

It would be nice if you all can get on the same page and determine if Rossi's failure was because of Ducati or Rossi. The flip flop is tiresome.

Please don't say they haven't been listening to Rossi and crew, as they have given him everything he has asked for over the last two years. It would appear that the Ducati engineers have finally found what is needed to balance the bike.

If Dovi succeeds on the bike, I will attribute it to Dovi having the stones to ride the bike the way it was intended to be ridden, and not because of a mythical touch Rossi applied to it.
