MotoGP » Dorna boss talks MotoGP, WSBK

“We think that a championship derived from production bikes that is using 39 engines during one season, and in MotoGP you are using six - to be honest it's not very correct” - Carmelo Ezpeleta, Dorna.

if you obey brands to build the shame thing, just want to see who is able to do better...

if you give chance to do different things (with reasonable limits) you give the chance to do different things to arrive a similar level...

politics and wsbk,bsb...are the problem of Dorna,
not money, save money or different ways of evolution...

why not start for: give more tyre options? dont mind if is only one brand, i mean different compounds, at least 4 to choose, it should help teams to race better...

Well the party its getting to expensive and everybody wants to enjoy but no one wants to pay and then the reality check comes to hit our faces.

The world is in a terrible financial crisis, so the manufactures are in the same conditions.

what i think the rule makers need to understand is "production" vs "Prototype" now that the rule makers are under one umbrella.

so "Production" if its on the road bike, you can run it. ie suzuki your screwed unless you bring out TC. but your good to go in the wet cos you got a mode C.

"prototype" i made this on the lathe this morning, gonna run it in FP2 and see how it goes...

stick some crap in there like only 8 engines or, 22 litres of fuel, no carbon brakes etc but the thing each championship needs is consintancy. if you want to change the rules for 2015 do it in 2013. every one knows where they are at and can budget accordingly. i think!!

this is why venture capitalists / investment companies shouldnt be allowed in motorsport.f**k the show, its not about the show, its about the fastest motorcycles whether prototypes or highly tuned road based machinery that can only be riddeb by a very few to their maximum potential, when will this clown realise that is the show !
cant wait to see honda and yamahas response to what the clown comes up with.what he forgets is the manufacturers make the bikes the fans ride, and have as many long term fans as individual riders.these fans will vote with their feet, they arent interested in a bunch of suits that know f**k all about the passion behind REAL racing and are only interested in lining their pockets.
anyone that wants to watch a phoney "show" race, watches formula 1

MotoGP is a snoozefest and is in serious trouble. WSBK is good racing. DORNA Knew their format is dead so they bought their competition. I suspect they will dumb-down WSBK ala AMA bikes, to allow MotoGP to continue extorting money from the promoters. This is really really bad news. The only real racing left anymore is BSB and TT/Irish road racing.

It has long been a show and Dorna uses cash to rig it to try to ensure all nations paying for TV coverage are represented. Ever noticed there has always a British rider on the grid. Dorna money. And so on through the field and down the classes. Not saying that Crutchlow isn't going really well. Good on him. Worse are all the technical rules designed to improve 'the show' but which ruin it instead. Restricted number of engines, fuel restrictions, control this and that, shopping bikes in the lower classes. Don't talk to me about being green and saving money. Ditch the ridiculous night race in Qatar and save a fortune.

Make the most of 2013 then.

We already have Superstock 1000, in WSBK?
They could end up racing less sophisticated machinery than you could buy at your bike dealer.
After all, it is a World Championship!....The teams will walk away in 2014 if the dumming down is severe,I'm sure Dorna know this.
