'I made a small mistake on the hot lap which is a shame because I think that lap could have been close to pole, definitely the front row' - Ben Spies

We know exactly what happens if you get a good start and get behind the aliens Ben. They ride away from you and you block the chasing pack who might just be able to stay in contact. Four more races watching this clown waste the best bike on the grid and then he'll be off to the second best Ducati. Can't come soon enough.

Spies is correct in his assertion.

"We" had the pace, sadly "he" does not have the skills.

That qualifying 'crash' was Karel Abraham level of pathetic. What a waste of factory seat.

'blocks the chasing pack...'

That's pretty much funny. Pure crap of course. I mean since Spies is such a bad rider how would he be able to hold up faster/better riders?

Just keep making up garbage to satisfy your hatred!

He's got good pace this weekend, and he's certainly going to push for that podium to salvage a little pride from this year. I can see him being in a scrap with the 2 Tech 3 guys again tomorrow, and the one who comes out on top will be the rider who makes least mistakes.

Brake performance could play a part too - Ben is a slightly heavier guy than some and his brakes are going to have to work hard around Motegi. The calipers have already stuck once in practice, so it could be a factor over race distance.

Ben, if you "had the pace for the front row" you'd have been on the front row. It's that simple. Is english not your first language or something?

It's the same crap we hear from riders in the race.

I would have won IF..
I would have been on the podium IF...

Yup, and IF you were David Beckham you'd be married to Posh.

@Don-R there is absolutely no doubt that with Stoner not fully fit Spies should be on the podium. If he doesn't make it onto the podium then he isn't good enough.

As for the mythical weight advantage of the other riders look at the difference between Pedrosa and Lorenzo. Lorenzo is 27% heavier than Dani, do you hear people excusing Lorenzo on the basis of his weight? Of course not, he's ahead of Pedrosa in the championship and has beaten him more often than he's been beaten by him. Spies OTOH is only 9% heavier than Lorenzo. Or to look at it another way that's about 2% in terms of the whole bike and rider package. Hardly a significant amount.
