'Unfortunately, this is our potential at the moment, and our pace still isn't at the same level as the others, especially in the early laps' - Valentino Rossi

Fact stoner won this race on a ducati says a lot as 2 year developed bike not even close end of that one /
Im also guessing lorenzo will be too good for rossi next year as i think lorenzo has improved a lot and grown up since rossi left yamaha but it will be good to have rossi back on a bike that he can ride up the front end for a change

OR

2006 no WC for Stoner or Rossi
2007 WC for Stoner
2008 WC for Rossi
2009 WC for Rossi (only rider in last 12 years to defend title)
2010 No WC for either
2011 WC for Stoner

Result tied on WC since 2006 (oh but now it is about race wins javascript:insertTextCursor('comment', ':p'))

Or final position

2006 Rossi ahead
2007 Stoner ahead
2008 Rossi ahead
2009 Rossi ahead
2010 Rossi ahead (stoner lactose rossi compound fracture)
2011 Stoner ahead

Result: Rossi finished ahead 4-2

Cheers

@Ausrossi? Wasnt the lactose deal in 2009?

Anyway the championship IS about the championship. Which means its about points at the end of the last race. And on that one Rossi destroys Stoner. It it was about who has the most wins then I think Rossi would adopt a Stoner style of win or bin it.

What is worth more? A bunch of wins? Or the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP?

Id happily take seconds and win the WC rather than win a few and crash in others thereby throwing away any chance of a WC.

But it was exciting to watch Stoner chase Pedrosa and then bin it. But it cost him a WC which in Stoners own words is the holy grail and second in the WC counts for nothing.

But that is NOT how the Stoner Ducati combination ran the 2010 season. They went for wins only. The Duc was a very up and down bike in 2010.

The truth hurts
Now tell me, who plays basketball better in 2000 nba season, Kobe or Jordan? I think Kobe, but woho's all time greatest? And thats not even close to Rossi Stoners case, cause Stoner is out of game, but Valle i think will be in racing till 40 years, believe me he loves this sport, sow bye CS. And its pitty he'l aint be there next year, cause he'll surely be beaten.

Nice stat lists. However, stats being what they are, they can be read however you want. For instance...Most of Casey's wins were in only 2 years, and anyway where do Jorge and Dani fit into this period?

this arugment is getting so boring,

Rossi is a great rider, one of the best we have seen and you cant dismiss his achievments, and we will probably never see another rider in out time acomplish all that he has, and he still has 2 more season , and more left in him.

Stoner is a great rider, one of the best we have seen
and you cant dismiss his achievments,

who cars who has the most titles and or most wins,

just be thankfull you got to see both these superstars compete

Ah well. His motivation must be at an all time low regarding the Ducati, and humble pie doesn't taste very nice either. Trying to chase Stefan Bradl for a sixth place finish can't be much fun.

I hope it doesn't affect him negatively getting back on the Yam though. It would be great to see a happy, fast, competitive Valentino Rossi again next year.

This season is pretty much over and is as boring as fook now. Hopefully next season will be better. Its a shame Casey aint going to be about though, but Marquez looks like he'll provide some entertainment!
