MotoGP » Moto2: Marquez talks title chance in Malaysia

“I do not care whether I am crowned champion in Malaysia, Australia or Valencia; the most important thing is to get the title, although it is clear that the sooner, the better” – Marc Marquez.

I doubt very much he is gonna get destroyed by Pedrosa next year, rather i reckon Pedrosa will be in for a bit of a shock when he realise just how fast Marquez really is. I remember people arguing that Marquez wouldnt be all that good in Moto2. Now they are constantly having to make up stories of favouritism to explain away his spee....

Of course Pedrosa will beat him. Who wins the title in their rookie year?

But remember how well Pedrosa and Lorenzo both did in their rookie seasons. Sure they didn't win the title, but they finished 5th and 4th respectively in their rookie years and both won races. I wouldn't be too surprised to see Marquez pull off a similar feat.

There's one thing however, next year his single issue detractors can't use his weight as an excuse if he does well. He's considerably heavier than Dani. But then he's not the lightest rider in Moto2, there a few riders a kilo or two lighter, a few the same weight and even one who is loads lighter. Doesn't stop people whining about his weight now does it?

I really like Marquez. He is the real deal. Sometimes a bit fiesty but this is better than the pc brigade we have now (not all but many of the current crop). He didn't need to win on Sunday but he just did. Awesome!

Personally I would expect Marquez to do slightly better than Bradl has in his rookie year, which by the way i think has been exceptional. They were a close match in M2 last year, Marquez maybe edging it before the crash. Rookie's have won in the past before the single tyre rule - no rookie has won a race in first season since so will be interesting to see if he can do it.
