'WE are the slowest of the three' We no doubt includes Ducati and Burgess. Hell. Everytime Stoner used the 'we' word he got dubbed a moaner.
Capirossi beat you by a country mile in 2005 on ..yes,a pipe frame Ducati with a shoestring budget.
In and around the same age as you are now.
All the best Vale's,statistically you own Sepang like Mugello.
IN Goat WE trust??? 3 weeks to go to Yamaha re - invention.
Look forward to Sepang and more forward to Valencia post race testing.

Next year he will be on the Yamaha.
No possible machinery excuses then.
He took a winning bike in 2010 and turned it into a t*ud.
When Lorenzo eats his lunch next season then the myth will be broken. Even the most rabid Rossi fan will have to admit that this GOAT stuff is utter bs.

@ What I'm talking about is the fact that so many people are now saying that Rossi only won his 9 World Championships because he was on the best machinery which is crap.

With the exception of his 2004 title, when has Rossi not won a championship on the best bike (which the bike was far from crap and much better than what he is riding now)? He did however have the best tires, the best suspension and what many call the best crew in the paddock. Until 2010 Rossi always had better equipment than his teammate, this isn't opinion, this is documented fact.

Per the words of Rossi, the 2005 M1 was the best GP bike he has ever ridden.

As far as your attempt at insult, i've had better from worse, so keep trying.

I am far from saying Rossi is without talent (which I'm sure I have to eplain to you) however, trying to lay claim that Rossi can beat the current crop on less is, as you say, crap.

I love when people make comparisons between riders from different years, on different bikes, with different levels of competition, etc. #sarcasm

@CRT

And how often does ANYONE win the championship without the #1 or #2 machine? And don't say Stoner - everyone who has been following GP long enough knows that the 2007 Ducati was top level.

@ Southerner:

No, when he moaned he was called a moaner. I didn't read Rossi moaning. He said that they were arguably the slowest of the three in contention for 5th (I'm sure you can't argue with that?) but he would give it a go. That is not moaning, that's saying lets's get out there and see what we can do!

The difference is that when Stoner won he moaned that this wasn't right, or that wasn't right. When he had to fight he complained that the other rider did not give up his place easily. When Rossi loses a fight on track he still has a real smile on his face because he is a racer! Of course he prefers winning, but even this year I've seen pictures of him in the pits, after losing a race long battle for some lower place (6th IIRC) and he was beaming because ge *could* fight for it.

That's why I like Rossi, when he wins and when he loses.

rossi. still the best there has ever been . results prove it. won among the best. not like some, won with little opposition,to win now there is more good riders
there has ever been at any one time.he has nothing to prove, he has done that. rossi creates more interest in the sport than anyone else, so why knock him . he will be up there next year, but i think he is to old to win championship, hope im wrong

Really? What exactly was so "top level" about the 2007 Ducati? Was it the top speed? The Ducati held the top speed record since 2005 by Capirossi, which was finally broken by Pedrosa in 2009. Anyone who has followed GP racing knows that top speed does not win races/championships.

Was it the tires? The next best finisher on BS was down in fourth (on a Suzuki no less. Go Hopper!).

Was it the whole package? The next best finisher on the Ducati was all the way down in 7th (you know, that former 250CC world champ who won four races on the 2006 Ducati). If Ducati finished 1-3-4-5 I would say you have a pretty good argument.

So what exactly made that Ducati so much superior again?
